Sorry for the late response, but I have found that if I control-click on the file in question and say open with BBEdit, she workee. I've come up with a possible workaround for this bug until it can be addressed properly by Apple. I created an Automator application which has two actions Launch Application BBEdit.app and Open Files in BBEdit. I called it BBShunt.app and set it as the default external editor in Transmit. Transmit can now open files in BBEdit without being aware that it is doing so. Seems to be working okay for me so far.
