Restarting BBEdit makes the CPU-usage go down below 1% with the same
windows open...

Definitely "something to keep an eye on" ;-)

Keep up the great work!

Thanks, FrankS.

Hey Frank,

BBEdit 10.5 (3221) right now on my i7 MacBook Pro:

-
PNAME CPU CPU-TIME TH REALMEM PVTMEM SHRDMEM VMEM PTS KIND
SNTMSGS RCVDMSGS
-
BBEdit 1.3 7:50.31 6 80.8 MB 34.0 MB 73.9 MB 152.8 MB 275 Intel
162,968 582,939
-

A couple of days ago it was using an outlandish amount of CPU while in the
background and idle. More than 16%.

Since then I've restarted the app and closed a few windows, and I think I've
rebooted as well.

I run iStat Menus, so I usually notice PDQ if something is acting up.

Do remember that it's a beta, but yeah keep an eye on it.

Best Regards,
Chris
