Re: Preferences window

2011-07-20 Thread Ken Lanxner
I agree. I don't change my preferences often enough to really
care about this.

I too, at first, thought this was annoying, because I was clicking all
the headings to see what the window did. But when I stopped doing that
silly thing and instead started to actually look at the preferences
instead of the preferences *window*, I suddenly stopped caring about
the window size change. To me it's irrelevant when I'm actually using
the prefs.

Please remove the resizing window feature ASAP. It is extremely
annoying.

+1
Sorry, I really hate this too. I don't find the automagic window
resizing helpful, especially when it truncates the list of preference
panes.

Preferences window

2011-07-19 Thread LuKreme
The preferences window is not resizable, and the sidebar is not resizable
either. This means that I have to waste space on the left side AND I can't see
a full list of the available settings in the Preference pane.

I have 1080 horizontal pixels, please don't artificially limit what I can see.

Oh wait, it's even more annoying. The size changes dynamically based on which
preference category I am looking at. So in "Text Colors" I can see everything,
and there's even some space; in "Languages" I can see all the categories
(although one is clipped); if I'm in Text Files, I can see about half of them.

OK, I'm sure someone thought this looked really cool, but the usability on this
is hovering around a 0.
