gang -

i just went from 10.1.3 to 10.5

10.5 changes the way sites work. in 10.1.3 i just opened whichever client's
files i wanted to work with, and could preview rendered php pages using my
global development site.

in 10.5, as far as i can tell, sites are project-specific. in other words,
the only way i can preview a properly rendered php page is to make a
project for that client, and work with the project by double-clicking on
the project file which will then show me all of the files in their folder
(essentially a duplicate of the htdocs or public_html folder on their
server).

i'm fine doing that (even though i now have to create separate projects for
some 70+ active websites)...

here's my question:

can one of you brainiacs suggest a way i might script/automate STEP 3 of
the following:

   1. go to my Sites folder
   2. click on a client folder to see the files therein (i'm in column view)
   3. double-click on the file i want to work with and have it look to see
if there is a project file... if there is, open the file in the project...
which gives me sites and all kinds of other project goodness

something applescript? automator?

thanks,
bruce

p.s.: if there's a way to have one overall dev site that will run any and
all loose files through the one php engine, that would be workable, as
well. thx.
