Several people have offered to send checks, which is appreciated, since there are already some costs. My goal, of course, is to find a host that works with in the spirit of 'information wants to be free.' -Allan
Re: Brinton and Fallon on Streaming Audio
The other unanswered question is this: Is anyone - - or is EVERYONE - - willing to download a 50mb mp3 in order to listen to these lectures (and then have them on your hard disk to tape or share with others? If this was set up as download and play rather than stream and listen, it w.b. a great deal less hassle. HOWEVER, I, myself, think that streaming is the more appropriate solution. (But do tell me your feelings and, remember, you can talk to me about things like this off line as well as on-line.) Thanks -Allan

If we do need to pay a bit, that might be a possibility. Thank you, Bonnie York

Just to give folks some idea of what can be involved here: The first company I approached was the people who do www.brces.org, the webpage of the Blue Ridge Center. They told me they needed $100 setup fee and at least 3hours at $50 an hour. After that, they had a 'bit-rate,' which means I'd have to pay for each person who used the sound file! Since I hope to put up a dozen or so sound files, it's hard to think that this would be the way to go. I remain in good faith that there is either a pro bono host or that I will discover how to do this DIY. Thanks for your interest and support! -Allan

Re: Brinton and Fallon on Streaming Audio
Allan, I've always wanted to see and hear Will Brinton the master of compost, and this looks like the best chance I'll have for some time. So I cast my vote for streaming audio. I imagine there must a lot of interest for this on the list. Sally Fallon should put on a good show too. Better than having to order tapes from Acres USA. Many thanks for the offer. I know it will take a lot of work on your part to get it on-line! Best, Tom
