[beagleboard] Re: Device tree overlays may load manually, but not at boot.
Thanks for good advice! I have taken care of the information for my further work. I will be away for 3 weeks now, so i can't attend this forum for a while if additional posts are made. [beagleboard] Re: Beaglebone Black Rev. C: Protecting GPIO pins during boot until SYS_RESETn signal is HI

I have a sensor connected that is loop powered so it will be applying voltage at all times to the BBB. My thought is to use some sort of FET bus to protect the board. Ideas or thoughts? Thanks. As soon as you did not post anything particular about your concern - not a schematic, nor description, the only advice is: do not use any pins multiplexed with other functions and use opto-isolators for any other. In many many cases direct connection works of course. No need in any FETs. -- For more options, visit http://beagleboard.org/discuss --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups BeagleBoard group. [beagleboard] Can one read the ADC as a non-root user?

[beagleboard] Re: Updated bone101
Jason, The Bone 101 page has updated to reflect Rev C and 4 GB. From this paragraph on the 101 page: See updates http://beagleboard.github.io/Support/BoneScript/updates/ for the step-by-step guide. The link to update images from the revised page http://beagleboard.github.io/Support/BoneScript/updates/ results in a page not found error. Also, the paragraph below that still points to the Beagleboard/Angstrom page. There is no explanation of the earlier boards shipping with Angstrom nor the Rev C boards shipping with Debian and a link to an updates page. One question regarding links from this page. When a new user connects to the board via USB, unless a wifi module has been magically installed, or, instead, the connection is over ethernet through a router, without internet connection sharing enabled on the PC, will the links not fail? [beagleboard] MachineKit LinuxCNC on the BeagleBoard Black
I've created the MachineKit SD card image. Verified as non-corrupted. I've held down the Boot button and powered up the Beaglebone Black. I use PuTTY on WIN7 to connect. I log in as machinekit. Enter the same as password. And the system hangs there doing nothing else. Clearly it runs to a point since getting to the sign on point is at least a little bit successful. login as: machinekit Debian GNU/Linux 7 BeagleBoard.org BeagleBone Debian Image 2014-05-19 Support/FAQ: http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack_Debian machinekit@beaglebone.local's password: Removing the SD card and booting from the eMMC I've still got my Angstrom image so the same approach does work so the hardware and connections are all ok. login as: root root@beaglebone.local's password: root@beaglebone:~# date Sat Aug 16 12:58:47 PDT 2014 root@beaglebone:~# lsb_release -a Distributor ID: Angstrom Description:Angstrom GNU/Linux v2012.12 (Core edition) Release:v2012.12 Codename: Core edition root@beaglebone:~# Don't have the slightest idea where to even start since the image didn't list a root password either. I am using only a 4GB SD card. Perhaps I should pick up an 8GB? Re: [beagleboard] Asterisk server on BBB
In case anyone else is interested in running an Asterisk server on the BBB I've found that http://www.beaglebone-asterisk.org performs fairly well. Even better than on one of my older x86 systems. After doing some testing I'm ready for an initial deployment. Looks like it should be able to handle at least 6 simultaneous calls, which is more than I'll ever need. I'll post updates if I find anything interesting (good or bad). It's running on a 64G micro-SD card: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Asterisk 11.8.0 FreePBX 2.11.0.35 Later, Artie On 7/30/2014 1:34 AM, William Hermans wrote: Running debian the BBB can run lxde, but it wont be like a current x86 system experience.
