[beagleboard] BBAI Debian 10 nginx

2020-12-12 Thread Bill Barnett
When attempting to 'Open in Preview' for the classification.tidl.cpp
receive the following:

*"Welcome to nginx!*

*If you see this page, the nginx web server is successfully installed and
working. Further configuration is required."*

nginx is active but apparently the domain is not configured. What is the
proper configuration for the BBAI?

Attached my android phone to the cable - it has a micro hdmi port - and
listened to a youtube video on the monitor. The cable and monitor check
out.

[beagleboard] Audio via HDMI on Debian image 2016-01-24

2016-04-24 Thread Bill Barnett
I am unable to send audio over HDMI to my monitor.

The video is active over HDMI and the volume is turned up.

Results from various commands:

Debian Image 2016-01-24

/sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots
 0: PF -1
 1: PF -1
 2: PF -1
 3: PF -1
 4: P-O-L- 0 Override Board Name,00A0,Override Manuf,cape-universaln

I have also tried replacing overlay 4 with cape-univ-hdmi with same results.

cat /proc/asound/pcm
00-00: HDMI hdmi-hifi-0 : : playback 1 : capture 1

 aplay -l
  List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices
card 0: Black [TI BeagleBone Black], device 0: HDMI hdmi-hifi-0 []
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

"amixer -c 0" and "amixer -c 0 controls" has no output

"speaker-test -D plughw:0,0 -c2" creates no sound.

Thank you,,,

[beagleboard] Wireless thermometer

2015-09-04 Thread Bill Barnett
Want to add an outdoor wireless thermometer to my beaglebone black
application. (Must be able to work / survive in -30 degrees F locale.) Are
there any recommendations from successful implementations? Is there an
interface that permits receiving data from an Oregon Scientific sensor?

Generally, two electronic systems talking to each other over wires
(not fiber optics, and not ethernet, which uses isolation techniques)
 will need a common ground.

This is especially true of either parallel port driven projects, or
serial (I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-232, to name a few styles).

 MIDI uses isolation techniques.

Just as when you measure a voltage, you need to measure with reference
to something (typically a ground point), the other circuits that
respond to that voltage need the same (and common) reference point.
This is true unless there have been fairly special techniques used to
 bypass that need.

Remembering this can save you lots of difficulty, however, when in
 doubt about connections, ask.

 Harvey
