[beagleboard] Re: BeagleBone Black bricked

2016-01-05 Thread Iñigo Martínez

I have been looking at the booting process in the past, but I don't have
enough knowledge about U-Boot. Anyway, in case it's any helpful for you,
take a look at this link:

Best regards,

[beagleboard] Re: BeagleBone Black bricked

2015-09-23 Thread Iñigo Martínez
I have fixed it now.

This was my scenario. I have two BBB boards, running the same OS image, and
a uSD card with that same OS image. All runned fined, until I did something
wrong with one of them and it bricked. It wasn't able to boot from either
the eMMC nor the uSD, the other BBB board booted though.

The bricked BBB wasn't able to even boot, uboot wasn't loaded, by writing
the 'C' character continuously. With the flasher image loaded in another
uSD it booted, but the kernel was crashing.

So, finally, I booted the bricked BBB with the flasher image uSD until it
displayed '*Hit any key to stop autoboot*', the I swapped the flasher image
uSD with my OS image uSD, and it finally booted it. Then I reflashed it and
the BBB came back to life.

So I guess that uboot was broken in the bricked BBB.

Anyway, thank you,

Best regards,

[beagleboard] Re: BeagleBone Black bricked

2015-09-23 Thread Karl Karpfen
I'd recommend to get a Linux-distro that runs from microSD card too (like
Ubuntu), boot it with Boot-switch pressed and then check the eMMC
manually/copy the distro to it.
