Hello there,
I am using BeagleBone Black with Debian console version (3.8.13-bone70 #1
SMP Fri Jan 23 02:15:42 UTC 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux). I have enabled g_ether
module for usb ethernet gadget. The problem is, the usb0 interface is not
visible on boot. I have to manually login to BeagleBone Black and use
ifconfig:

ifconfig usb0 192.168.7.2

Without that, I cannot connect using usb. I see the interface on the
windows side but its down. In my interfaces file I have:

# Ethernet/RNDIS gadget (g_ether)
# ... or on host side, usbnet and random hwaddr
# Note on some boards, usb0 is automaticly setup with an init script
auto usb0
iface usb0 inet static
    address 192.168.7.2
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    network 192.168.7.0
    gateway 192.168.7.1

I tried to work around this and added ifconfig usb0 192.168.7.2 rclocal
file but that ahvent helped as well.

I would really apreciate all help here- Why isnt usb0 configured at boot?
