Re: getting Teddy to NJ
Seems to me there was a "Teddy", five year old male rescue dog, that was in Port Jervis, NY(2 miles from New Jersey) that went out to Ohio to a new home.is he coming back again? Why did he go half way across the country to come back again? Re: getting Teddy to NJ
Kaethy, Years ago when people needed help with a transport, they told us why they needed the help. Knowing why makes the difference. If people cannot tell me they why if asking for help and don't sign the emails with First, Last Name and address. Guess, why should we bother to help? Yes, I want the Berner-l to stay a friendly place. I'm very frustrated with the many people on the list who are rather rude by not signing their emails, not following the rules, ignoring what Pat ask them to do, etc. Sylvia Katvala Tucson, AZ

I don't think we should be questioning why someone needs help. If they are already undertaking a rescue, and bless you for that Ellen, they are going above and beyond what many of us can't afford or are able to do. NJ and WI are a distance away and it isn't for us to question whether or not someone should just get out there and do it themselves. We are meant as a support community, and that's what Ellen was asking for. I don't think your post was intended as such, but it felt a bit negative and mean spirited. We don't want people to shy away from asking anyone on the Berner L for help, advice or whatever. If Ellen needed help anywhere along the west coast I would be glad to help, and I would only know that she needed help if she posted it on the site! Again, I don't think your intention was as it sounded, but I felt it necessary to reinforce that we should concentrate on being here as support for anyone that needs it, and leave the door open for them to be able to ask for help. getting Teddy to NJ
Ellen K, Maybe I'm missing something here, so I'll ask. If you want to rescue Teddy in WI, why aren't you getting in the car and driving out there to get him? Why are you counting on folks along the way to do it for you? You could have been there and back again by now, couldn't you? Libby Kesner
