Thanks for that. I'll have a play.

Bad luck for you: the left side is an old-school iframe. The most static,
HTML 3.x part of all the skin :-).

I've no idea about prism, but it probably doesn't support frames?

Tried installing Prism and using it with the new UI.

http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/10/prism/

Unfortunately, the left window never loads. (It does with the straight
up firefox browser.)

This is just as (if not more) likely a bug with Prism as it is with the
new AJAX-iness of the new skin, but I thought I'd throw it out there as
something to look at.

(I love the idea of being able to fire up the UI and have it look more
like an app.)

You will need to go to your SqueezeNetwork account to enter this
information. We hope to add a way to do this directly from the SC
web UI soon.

2007-10-26 Thread GrahameP

Hi,

I've just made the jump to SC7 - looks great!

One problem I have is that I cannot access my presets in L365 as it
doesn't seem to have anywhere in the interface to enter my username and
password. Is this an oversight, or is it done somewhere else now? I'm
using SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 14113 - Windows Server 2003.

syncBufferThreshold should be 4 and no more than 255, I just fixed a
bug related to this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] SoftSqueeze for testing with 7.0 and sync

2007-10-26 Thread oreillymj

I'll try rebooting the SB2 (00:04:20:05:ad:a1). I did make a config
change to increase the amount of buffered data before unpausing
(syncBufferThreshold: 15000), but I unzipped a nightly over Softsqueeze
7.0a, so I'll need to set it up again to test it.

BTW, I've also seen the stuttering behaviour where the SB plays a song
in bursts of about .5 of a second. It was also happening on the SB2 in
the kitchen. Advancing to the next track restored normality.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] SoftSqueeze for testing with 7.0 and sync

2007-10-26 Thread awy

Hi,

I guess that 00:04:20:05:ad:a1 is the real SB (Kitchen) and that
87:0c:cd:d6:a4:3e is the SoftSqueeze.

The problem seems to be that the SB is generating output underrun
events (STMo) as soon as it is unpaused, even though its decode buffer
is virtually full. This causes the server to pause all the players in
the sync-group, allow them to rebuffer (which they complete on
immediately, as they already had full buffers), and then unpause them
all again. Then we get another STMo and the cycle repeats.

I saw this once during my testing and the only solution was to reboot
the SB. I have never seen it since. Can you try this (rebooting)?

The latency calculations do indeed show that network reachability is
not great but I think that it is ok. I also notice that I have
forgotten to include the latency-tracking change in the SoftSqueeze
code, but that should not be such a big deal. I'll upload a new zip
file to the wiki soon.

Alan.

The SqueezeNetwork setting (synchronization of player settings, services like
