Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] URL can't be played through Favorites

2008-02-09 Thread JJZolx

I figured it out. I think I may have entered it wrong initially, then
after editing it so that it's correct, the item never gets a 'Play'
control. Looks like a bug. You can't correct a bad URL through
editing.

Hmm, I don't have any problems playing channels with either the remote

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] SB Display Shrunk

2008-02-09 Thread smc2911

Well, it looks like I dismissed the RetroBrowser theory too soon: it
does seem to be the culprit (perhaps this thread should be moved to
Jive!). If I go to RetroBrowser the screen shrinks and if I then use
the old remote or the WebUI from that point onwards, it will stay
shrunk. If I use the Jive and browse away from RetroBrowser (e.g. go to
Music Library), then after a while the screen rights itself.

[SlimDevices: Beta] SB Display Shrunk

2008-02-09 Thread smc2911

I've just had an odd experience: the display on my SB3 has suddenly
stopped extending the full width of the display (see image). This
applies to everything (Now Playing, Menus, Screensaver), with one
exception, namely the large size Spectrum Analyzer. I don't know what
started this, but unplugging the SB, restarting (in fact upgrading) SC
did not help either. The only thing I did recently that I don't often
do is use the RetroBrowser applet on the Jive remote, but since I have
used that a few times before I don't really think it's the culprit.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0.1 - 17367 - Debian - EN - utf8

[SlimDevices: Beta] Error accessing rhapd:// content with SC7

Hi,
Starting this morning, I'm getting the following error when trying to
play any Rhapsody channel via SC7:

There was an error loading the remote feed for : (Cannot request
non-HTTP URL rhapd://ps.8647898.rdr)

Ditto when I use the remote to direct the SB to a Rhapsody channel.
The SB display reads:
Cannot request non-HTML URL rhapd://ps.88647898.rdr

Other Rhapsody content works fine; it's only Channels that appear to
have the problem. These worked fine earlier in the week. I tried
installing the 2/9/2008 SC7 build, but had the same results.

If I switch to SqueezeNetwork, Rhapsody Channels work fine, so no
worries there. Thoughts?

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] SqueezeNetwork Beta

2008-02-09 Thread raglencross

I'm having the following problems with the Beta SN:

1. When I go to Beta SN (BSN) with the SB3 or via the switch option in
SC7 (9 Feb version), the BSN webpage shows HTML code in the player
pane. There are no buttons or player drop down box. Deleting my SB3
and reregistering it result in the pane appearing normally for a few
moments, then it reverts to HTML.

2. Clicking "more" under "Favourites" results in a drop down list that
extends out of the favourites panel.

Someone else brought up Item 2, but would like to know if the HTML
thing is a known issue with the Beta.

Well, the first 20 or so lines are unrelated to mysql and suggest that
networking (or at least DNS) is broken on your box. Maybe just an
intermittent problem with your ISP?

I'm not sure about the mysql problem, but it might help if we start
from scratch. Please:
- Stop SqueezeCenter
- Make sure there are no extra mysqld processes left running. If there
are either kill them or just reboot.
- Delete the contents of /var/lib/squeezecenter/cache

- Post the output of "ps -ef | grep squeeze" and the contents of

OK. I got Encode::Detect installed, and now Info.pm works as intended.
(It would be nice if the software were able to tell you what
prerequisites were missing.)

However...

There's still the problem I described with truncated filenames showing
when browsing "Music Folder". For example, "José Padilla - Adios
Ayer.mp3" is truncated to "Jos". (When you get to the "Song Info"
page, the location field shows the correct filename.)

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] ATTN Debian Users: Stable/Testing/Unstable Repos Have Been Updated

2008-02-09 Thread millia

I decided to stick with the 7.0.1 series since when I went back to 7.0
stuff I got the same weird no-sorting behavior on albums and genres. No
probs. Works great.

However, now I've got the opportunity to update it every day. Before I
avail myself of the bleeding edge, I'd like to see what changed in that
day's builds. Is there some easy way to see that in the SVN somewhere?

I'm not a programmer, and I'm a bit lost in the structure. I'm sure
it's there, I just don't see anything that shows recent changes, nor do
I see a '7.0.1 - look here, David' marker either.

Not sure why I decided to do go experimental with this server anyway;
maybe it's because at work I'm Mr. Debian-Stable dude. ;)
(Actually, to the point of sticking with Deb3.3, come to think of it.)

Thanks...

branch can be thought of as pre-7.0. Changes made to branch are in
preparation for the 7.0 release. trunk is pre-7.01 and it contains all
branch (7.0) fixes plus other enhancements or fixes destined for an
eventual 7.0.1 release.

Yes. Note that right now, release is still 6.5.4. Also, when you
update from release to branch (or branch to trunk for that matter), you
can't go back without either uninstalling or using "rpm --force".

[SlimDevices: Beta] Question about repos.slimdevices.com/yum/squeezecenter

2008-02-09 Thread gharris999

This repo includes three different packages: release, branch & trunk.
Am I right in thinking that, if one wants the nightly incremental small
fixes to the released version, one should install from "branch"? Do I
have that right? (I realize that this won't be literally true until
after the official 7.0 release.)

Alternatly, if one installs from squeezecenter-release, can one get the
branch bug fixes via:

yum update -y --enablerepo=squeezecenter-branch
--disablerepo=squeezecenter-release

??
