I've just check this with 7.1 r2662, and it look like the SqueezeCenter
password is working correctly. Can you check with a more recent build,
and let me know if you still think this is a problem.

Thanks,
Richard

[SlimDevices: Beta] False message about blocked ports with 4-7 nightly 7.2 build

2008-07-04 Thread dwilliams01

When it installs on Windows it claims that there are ports blocked.
Well, it worked yesterday and there have been no firewall changes so
that seemed unlikely. It also works just fine after install.

[SlimDevices: Beta] Status of 7.1

2008-07-04 Thread Andy Hawkins
Hi all,

Just wondering what the current status of 7.1 is? Is it ready to be a
relatively stable platform yet, or are things still in a state of flux?

Currently running the latest 7.0x trunk from SVN, but as long as things
aren't changing so as to break thing for 7.1 I'd consider an upgrade.

Thanks

Andy

[SlimDevices: Beta] Invalid mac address or uuid and no key response

2008-07-04 Thread erland

Today I turned on my beta controller and upgraded it to the latest
firmware and got the "Invalid mac address or uuid" message.

The problem is that the Controller doesn't respond to any keyboard
command besides clicking the "home" button. When I click the "home"
button I get one step further but then no key at all responds, the only
think I can do is to restart it which will just restart the process. So
the controller is basically not usable at the moment.

Is there some way to fix this besides sending in the Controller ?
Can I do something to make sure I don't get the same problem on the
Controller I got at the end of the beta process ?

At the moment it doesn't feel like it is worth the trouble to send it
back to US just to be reprogrammed, especially since I have a second
controller. But it's sometime useful for development purposes, so I
like to know if there is some way I can fix it myself.

Could you please tell me what firewall you're using and what exactly the

It should be pretty stable. Please give it a try. The more testing it gets, the
better the release will be.

That's an issue a few of us (beta testers) encountered these days. Please
contact MickeyG.

Yes, it's possible to update uboot and set a UUID (did it only a few days ago).
You only need to make sure you don't mistype any of the instructions :-).

Is there a current plan for a release schedule? Just as in is it next week,
next month, 6 months?

[SlimDevices: Beta] Loaded 7.1 for first time -can't change player settings from computer

2008-07-04 Thread aeo12

I loaded SqueezeCenter 7.1 for the first time today. It is build 21500
for the Mac OS (I'm on Mac OS 10.5). I've found that I can't save
changes to the player settings from my computer. However, I can make
changes using my remote. Could this be a bug, or is there something I
need to clear out or re-set? I'm using two plug-ins that affect the
player displays-- SuperDateTime and Music Information Screen.

If you've upgraded from 7.0.x then make sure you fully reload the web UI.
Clear the browser's cache and try again.

(Most of the JavaScript of the web UI has been rewritten for 7.1 - it
therefore won't work if your browser is loading a stale copy from 7.0)

Thanks Michael. I usually use Mac's Safari as my browser and I tried
emptying the cache and also disabling the cache, and still couldn't
save changes to the player settings. I then tried using Firefox and
the save player settings function worked. I don't recall any problems
changing and saving player settings in 7.0 when I first got the Mac
about 3 months ago, and I know I used Safari then. It would be
interesting to know if any other Safari users are having a problem.

I put that into the bug reference, but we probably cross posted.

It is Norton/Symantic (most recent, 2008 version).
I don't have the exact install warning message text, sorry. It looked
like the text being discussed in the bug I cited.
