Doesn't the S in LMS stand for Server ? LMS = Logitech Media Server Seems strategic to me, getting "Logitech" in the name is a good idea and "Media" is also good because it opens up the possibility to use it for a lot of other things than just music. Feels like a name like "Logitech Media Server" could live a lot longer than a name tied to a specific hardware product like "SlimServer", "SqueezeCenter", "Squeezebox Server", it's also a lot better than changing it to "Logitech Revue Server" or something similar. Answer: NO The logical answer for me would be to: Fix the issue in SBS that's preventing mixes with foreign characters in their path. That's the problem. I appreciate all the suggestions regarding bulk renaming... but I'm not going to rename anything. The MusicIP mixes issue is not with my tags, folders or filenames. I guess the menu structure could be sent although with DVD ISOs most people aren't too bothered about the annoying menu systems as long as content is navagable. You would need to give people the choice of audio stream. I like to watch my films with original soundtrack and subtitles... doch my mandarin is worse than my non-existant german. However there is HiDef content and it doesn't tend to stream well over wireless connections. HiDef ISOs weren't dealt with by most products when I last looked. There are I believe tools that produce rips in ISO format with just the video in it. I have never used these tools but from looking at other product forums (like the WDHDTV one) I recollec this as being a format some people use. Me... That's part of the appeal since it is like having access to the DVD without the physical DVD. Much like you can mount an ISO with Daemon Tools so it looks like a drive and then play the mounted image through your DVD player software of choice on your PC. I guess this wouldn't work with the Revue architecture if you are relying on a server much like the squeezebox devices. Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] MusicIP and foreign characters... Here I go again.
If you have access to a linux/unix machine you could simply run the 'detox' (http://detox.sourceforge.net/) utility which 'cleanses' filenames without altering the modification date. On a different note, if you actually use MusicIP server on linux, I've also found that while the Mac & Win MusicIP GUI is incapable of analyzing tracks longer than 10 minutes, the linux MusicIP server has no such limitation. -- Nikhil Nikhil's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=993 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86355 ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta

It looks to me that there was a major change to the scanner process between r32108 and r32215.
