Thanks, slate, but I don't think that's related. What I'm describing
is a known bug that's been present in jive/sbs since the release of
7.4. I've been tracking this since October, 2009.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] 7.6 Radio firmware published, r9301

2011-02-08 Thread slate

Possible related FYI I am running 7.6 track on my system, normally
upgrading every Saturday.

At some point in December? I started getting problems switching to
mysqueezebox.com using the Controller. It looked like it happend, but
if you then select "Internet Radio" the spinning wheel would appear
connecting to my server... ?!
I saw this a couple of times. If I made the switch and went to
mysqueezebox.com it would state that my Receiver was connected and I
could controll it... Appearantly my Controller was somewhere in
between.

I thought that my Controller had become corrupted somehow due to the
frequent updates lately and needed the reset.
So I did a reset of my Controller and the problem went away.

It is the first time I did a reset since I got the Duet. And setting up
the Controller also posed a challenge.

Choose language and setup network. But then it went to search for
players and it just kept searching... I cancelled out somehow and
went into setup again when it came to the player step it jumped out.

I then found out that my server was doing 100% CPU; I killed/restarted
SBS and then I could finish the setup.

There was nothing in the logfile.

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] 7.6 Radio firmware published, r9301

2011-02-07 Thread gharris999

Ben:

Picture 1 + Picture 2 never works. Doesn't work with the SBTouch
either. With the SBController, this hasn't worked since SBS 7.4 was
released. Back in the SqueezeCenter 7.3.x days, this feature worked
fine.

Any chance that a firmware update one of these days will get this
working again? If so, what what would be a reasonable time frame in
which to expect a fix?

[SlimDevices: Beta] 7.6 Radio firmware published, r9301

2011-02-04 Thread bklaas

I qualified and pushed out r9301 7.6 radio firmware a few minutes ago.
There is only one major change from the current beta r9298, and that's
Alan's ALAC/AAC fix for bug 16191

Technical Details-
Fixed bug 16191: ALAC Songs being cutoff before they end.
When using the ALAC CODEC in SqueezePlay players (which is not the
default with 7.5 unless using SB Touch's inbuilt server - other
instances of SbS transcode ALAC to FLAC), the decoder callback can be
called when the stream buffer contains insufficient data to decode a
full frame. The decode thread only ensures that there are 512 bytes
available before calling the callback, except in the case of FLAC. We
could use a similar hack for ALAC as is used for FLAC but it is simpler
and more robust to allow the callback to handle the insufficient-data
case gracefully. This applies to both ALAC and AAC.

cheers,
#!/ben
