Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Has anyone got LMS to work satisfactory with a video library ?

2011-09-29 Thread ttocsr

I don't have an xbox360. The PS3 is ok with avi/divx files using LMS if
they are small enough. Thats about it. It wouldn't play my small m2ts
files, just showed up as unsported. I've found that the PS3 likes m2ts
files the most, so I can't imagine it's the PS3 and the same small m2ts
file streams and plays on the ps3 fine if I put it on my twonky or
mediatomb server.

This pretty much makes video usless right now if you enjoy 1080p
video.

Something also in another post that I have an opinion on is takeing a
video clip as the thumbnail. Twonky/mediatomb/PS3MS all support
putting a picture called VIDEOFILE1.jpeg in the same folder as
VIDEOFILE1.avi and using that as the thumbnail. So you can use a site
like http://www.worldinhidef.com/ps3ms/thumbnailgenerator/ to create
nice and meaningful thumbnails.

Why reinvent this, just copy the features everyone else has
implemented.

I think the point is if you have a client that can't access a network
share and can only use a DLNA or UPnP server.

Yes, I can play them, although I'm getting mixed results during
playback. Getting a lot of choppy video playback and unsynced audio.
Looks like it could be the client, though.

that is fine, but can you also play the files from a connected client?

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Has anyone got LMS to work satisfactory with a video library ?

2011-09-25 Thread sbp

Hi Erland

I would like to use it for videos also. I have reported my problems
here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=659633&postcount=41

Briefly, the problems I had was: Using I LMS was unable to play the
files on my Samsung Blueray player (C6900). I could browse the files
and see the coverart - but not play them.
Using another dlna server, the files played nicely.

The audio files played fine on the Blyeray player through LMS (Flac and
Mp3)
