Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] can anyone confirm...

2011-05-25 Thread eganders

I setup my Dad to run both. Which he does, basically 24/7, with no
issues whatsoever. Now he does have a new (6 months) computer, so it
does have a fast multi-core CPU with lots of RAM and hard drive space.

I've had problems with squeezeplay and sbs on a win7 64 bit machine at
a friends house. Squeezeplay won't connect to server although
squeezeboxes have no problems, haven't really got to the bottom of it
yet but I suspect AVG.

Same config without AVG at home works fine.

No help I know, but there you go.

Gerry.

I've used both 7.5.x and 7.6 SBS and using 7.6 SqueezePlay. Using MSE
virus. Have no 24/96 files. All flac and mp3.

Have you tried the most obvius a clean install, without your special
convert.conf and inguz and filetypes settings ?

It could be that SBS is confused over squeezeplay as player with your
settings ? just a thougth

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] can anyone confirm...

2011-05-24 Thread Phil Leigh

OK - so MNYB was correct; SP+SBS on same machine is fine if:
1) no transcoding
2) transcode via SOX
3) transcode via Inguz

However, unlike (for example) the Touch, SP + SOX AND Inguz and SBS all
on the same PC doesn't work - just rebuffers every 13 seconds. It's not
a CPU or network issue. It looks like the pipework gets clogged.

Very annoying. I thought I'd try Squeezeslave instead - that works fine
with SOX+Inguz, but of course it can't handle anything other than
16/44.1 ...

Are there NO software players that just work and can be driven from the
web UI? (beats head against wall in frustration).
