[Bf-committers] Blender developer IRC meeting notes May 8, 2011
Hi all, Relative short meeting today: 1) Blender 2.57+, current projects - Ton will move to tracker triaging again. Campbell will work on BMesh and I/O work more. - Quality of code: keep module owners informed and if you add stuff, check tracker! https://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detailaid=27241group_id=9atid=498 - Peter Schlaile: are you still available this month? FFmpeg update might have issues. 2) GSoC - How to add branches for students needs decision soon; some students could share, mentors will check on who. 3) Other projects - Brecht: regarding Cycles, this week will focus on integration work, for Cycles as well as external engines. - Sergey: worked with Sean on an option to bake outside 'derivedmesh' to save memory, makes bakes possible with 5x more faces in same memory footprint (1.9M - 9M faces). - Cloth work: Joe has a new solver, he'll further work on this in his branch, coordinate it with module owners Daniel/Janne. Hi, Oops! forgot line of text belonging to point 3: - In order to keep the option open to have Cycles available as another (more free) GPL compliant license, contributors should agree for now to commit under BF copyright. Final decision on this should be made soon, review of how or what can continue until there's consensus though. -Ton- Ton Roosendaal Blender Foundation t...@blender.orgwww.blender.org Blender Institute Entrepotdok 57A 1018AD Amsterdam The Netherlands On 8 May, 2011, at 17:51, Ton Roosendaal wrote: Hi all, Relative short meeting today: 1) Blender 2.57+, current projects - Ton will move to tracker triaging again. Not with Sean only. Mostly with Morten Mikkelsen who provided almost all math which made able to bake directly from sculpted mesh. [Bf-committers] Normals' baker from multires mesh
Hi everybody, As it was mentioned in minutes today, Morten and me weer working under baker stuff last few weeks. Here's link to tracker http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?func=detailaid=27331group_id=9atid=127 and to thread in BA http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?216643-Summer-of-Code-Sculpt-and-Paint-Feedback-team Ofcourse, it's not finished at least from source code point of view. It'll require some work to make code good for be commitable into main source tree, but it's not very difficult. It's more important to know if it's really so useful and issue-less. Waiting feedback from you P.S. i'd prefer not to receive feedback about source code style. It'll be cleaned up :) -- With best regards, Sergey I. Re: [Bf-committers] console window back to appear
It would be nice if blender could remember if this is on/off when re-opening. When I press Ctrl + U and console window is on and when I restart blender I have to click that option again to make console window show up.
