[Bf-committers] Bake Action command not current.

2011-02-22 Thread Antony Jones
The Bake Action python file does not seem to be current. It crashes
because some properties have been rearranged. Here are a couple of the
exceptions that I ran into.

File nla.py

line 96 : bpy.context.object.animation_data.action = action

line 101 : if only_selected and not pbone.select:

Does anybody have any knowledge of these changes?

 Hi Anthony,

 my two cents

as you provide compiled binaries, you may try to get artists feedback
 say here
 http://blenderartists.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=9

it looks cool, but I think it's better to test on end users than on devs

[Bf-committers] Would anybody have any time to look over these local changes I made to Blender?

2010-09-04 Thread Antony Jones
I have been playing with rigging in blender and have made some changes
locally to my machine. Would these be changes someone would be
interested in? I have put up a web page so that you can become familiar
with what I have done. It has pictures and descriptions of the changes.
I am open to changes. And think this stuff is useful enough to other
people to put in to the main trunk.

The web page is at http://home.comcast.net/~antony.jones/index.html.

Thank you,
 Tony

It's premature for me to say how the bone visualization options work
just from the descriptions. They look like they might be useful, but
maybe needing better integration with existing features. Since it is
hard to take advantage of blender features using object controllers
( actions, linked character proxies, reasonable rest transformations),
I'd say custom object wire colors is a bit misleading for riggers.
However, for me the most interesting item is the pole vector as a float
property, could be quite cool for many setups, esp. if you wanted to
drive the twist from a rotation , and didn't want to go through the hoop
 of controlling the pole target.

I'm not sure what you mean by object controllers?
I think I know what an action is, but I would be guessing about linked
character proxies, and resonable rest transformations.

I'm not really sure why changing how the bone is displayed should affect
any of these things.

As far as bone color being misleading to riggers, is this because this
is not what you are used to? Because it is fairly common in other packages.

the pole vector option at least gets my vote! though I'm just an
animator/rigger, not a developer, so I have no say as far as code/design
 goes.
