Re: [Bibdesk-users] [EXTERNAL] BibDesk 1.8.4

2021-09-12 Thread Dr Eberhard W Lisse
For me on Big Sur and a 100 entry BIB file it works without hassle.

Preview has always been slowish, but that is because I use lualatex. If preview
speed were really important, I would edit the Preferences to make sure that
pdflatex is used. That did speed up things for me some, but I could not be
bothered.

In that context I also find it helpful to edit the template so as to not have
margins on top and bottom, and very little on the sides, so the preview appears
as one page :-)-O

mostly out of our hands.

Re: [Bibdesk-users] [EXTERNAL] BibDesk 1.8.4

2021-09-11 Thread Christiaan Hofman
Yes, it really does seem to be a problem with older systems. That makes it very
hard to fix, as I cannot see it myself, and the problem is deep inside Apple’s
very basic code, so that sounds like a system bug.

Unfortunately not too much. It seems to take a long time to layout the group
table.I would expect that the systems auto layout would be efficient, we’re not
doing anything really complicated and expensive for this particular view. Do
you have a really large number groups?

I really see no problem with a 1000+ file. And I have really no idea what could
give a problem. I cannot say anything without seeing a sample from someone who
has this problem.
