Also there keywords is just one of many fields. There won’t be a special
specific one for Keywords, but you can add one. As one choice.

And note that you can also use Keywords field groups.

I get it. In the context of database search the autocompletion is not a
good fit. What I had in mind was a keyword oriented search feature, as per
my initial question, where autocompletion would make sense. Groups, even
smart ones, are a good way to organize the file, but sometimes I really
miss the opportunity to exploit more keywords. Any plan to strenghten the
organization of the papers with any autocompletion or suggestions for the
classification of paper?

Not for the search query. That would not be useful, as it is not specific, it
can be just any field.

2021-09-12 Thread Roberto
I see. Thanks a lot for flagging these options. I had tried only the search
box and not the Find and Replace menu.

What I was trying to get to is a keyword based search, which Find and
Replace can do nicely. I do not see any suggestions or autocompletion for
the search query. I find this is very useful (e.g. in Zotero tags search).
Is there any way to get autocompletion or completion suggestions for
keywords in bibdesk?

You can always use Database Find and Replace to find instances in arbitrary
fields.

You can also use smart groups, which allows you to filter with a very broad
range of conditions.

In the newest release, you can now also add custom fields to filter for the
quick search from the toolbar (hit the “+” button after the search buttons the
search bar).
