Hi BIND users all. I'm thinking about BIND Version migration for 9.11.X to 9.16.X. Also, I'm about to check the different default config value and config parameters for the purpose of that now. I would like to ask you all. Are there any other points of observe carefully when migrating versions? e.g.)Behaves differently, Added 9.16.X only new features, etc. also, Is there any documentation that might be helpful? Question about "max-cache-size" value
Hello, I have a question about the "max-cache-size" parameter for named.conf. I'm thinking about this parameter value, How does everyone tuning this value? Would you let us know if you have any recommendations? How is memory used for "named". Such as to how allocated process memory, heap, cache-memory-space and more. Should not be used the value of "unlimited"? Because I think slave server do not have soa date at first time. Also, assuming that have not received notify from the master. In case of slave zone configure and restarting named on slave server, After the named restart, It looks like starting polling to the master server for zone transfer by slave server. How many seconds polling interval on this timer ? and can i change interval value to configure it ? Question for "rndc reconfig" on bind 9.11.4
Hi, all. Have a question for "rndc reconfig". I tried to rndc reconfig option on 9.9.9-P5 and 9.11.4-P1 by source installed binaries. Behavior on 9.9.9-P5 was add new named.conf option and only add new zone was loaded. But, behavior on 9.11.4-P1 was add new named.conf option, add new zone and existing zone reloaded. Hi, Steve Thanks for comments! I was mistaken, recheck packet capture results, it was query to all server access in configuration. I thought single server access on first capture results But, I think better to more hight cache hit rate by sequential access(e.g. first access is static). However, Access to all servers (calculate the RTT) is more better?
