Hello Friends

Regional Student Group - India
(RSG-India),
is Bioinformatics Students Organisation which is a part of the International
Society for Computational Biology . RSG-India actively
works for the development of the Bioinformatics student community in India.
As a part of this goal, RSG-India is launching a new initiative, the
Internships/Projects review forum.

Doing an internship or project during your studies is a very important
aspect of today's education. But selecting the right place to do your
internship or project can be a confusing experience for students. In the
absence of complete information, students have to rely on a combination of
hearsay, gut feeling and advice from friends and seniors to make a decision.
This forum is an attempt to try and take some of the guess work out of this
process and let students take a more informed decision. By writing reviews
about the places where you did a project/Internship and talking about your
experience there and giving your recommendation about the place, you can
help create a powerful information resource that later students can search,
refer and utilize to make a decision.

We have started a Google group for this purpose. The forum can be accessed
at http://groups.google.com/group/rsgi-internreviews. It is an open group
and anyone can post. Posts will be moderated to reduce spamming. Reviews
about each Institute/Company/Lab will be maintained on a single thread

Your reviews can take any form you like, negative or positive, detailed or
brief, appreciative or critical. Whatever be your opinion, we would like to
hear about it. Reviews are completely free form.


If you are a student who is looking for a place to do your internship,
please do go through this forum. We hope the reviews there would be useful
to you in making a decision. And for those of you who have done a project at
some place, I strongly encourage you all to talk about your experiences at
the forum. I also request that you pass on this email to anyone who you
think will be interested in this and help spread the word. The link to the

Hi giri,

Looking at current scenerio, I would suggest you first try to go
higher studies, if not possible then industry is always open.In the
mean time,develop atleast one good skill either in wet lab or dry lab.

Hi ashok,

U are B-tech student,I would suggest you to go for cooperate training
rather than going to CDRI.Half of time of summer training will be
spent in the documentation work.Even then also you want to apply, then
try to contact any Ph.D student of CDRI.He/She will be happy to engage
you in his/her research.

I am completing some research for my thesis from Dublin City
University - MSc in Organisational & Work Psychology. I am
investigating online communities of practice. Can the same findings
found from communities of practice within organisations be applied to
online communities? How do trust, personal innovativeness & computer
playfulness affect the quality of knowledge sharing and the
individual
impact of the knowledge sharing?


I would really appreciate if you as a member of this site, would fill
