[Ontbirds] Algonquin finches

2017-07-26 Thread Brian Morin via ONTBIRDS
While in Algonquin Park this week I noted Pine Siskins in several areas and
there were singing White-winged Crossbills near Mew Lake. The cone crop on
spruce is good this year. Algonquin specialties were scarce but there was a
Boreal Chickadee near Wolf Howl Pond.

[Ontbirds] Tricolored Heron, Tommy Thompson Park, Cell 2, July 26, 2017

2017-07-26 Thread Garth Riley via ONTBIRDS
The bird continues to be seen today in cell 2.
Directions: Tommy Thompson Park is where Leslie St. meets Unwin Ave. south of
Lake Shore Blvd. E. in Toronto. Park and walk the main paved road due south for
about 30 minutes. Cell 2 is the second wetland on your left. It is separated
from Cell 1 by a metal bridge and carp control structure.  Garth Riley
