[ONTBIRDS] Slaty-backed Gull, Thorold

2020-12-19 Thread Ryan Griffiths via ONTBIRDS
An adult Slaty-backed Gull was found roosting on the small pier just south of
Dock Road in Thorold this afternoon along the Welland Canal, taking flight at
3:15pm heading east towards the Landfill. Possibly reoccurring bird from
previous years. Dock road is a small gravel laneway that runs from Ormond St
south.

Good Birding!

[Ontbirds] Slaty-backed Gull, Thorold

2019-12-08 Thread Ryan Griffiths via ONTBIRDS
Refound after being flushed from original location, viewed on pier at dock road
thorold, which is across from northland power. Gulls again flushed by boat, but
are slowly trickling back, it is possible the slaty will return to the dock
road location.

Dock road is a small gravel seaway access road off ormond street south

[Ontbirds] Brant, Port Dalhousie

2018-05-19 Thread Ryan Griffiths via ONTBIRDS
A lone Brant was on the Dalhousie pier, it just flew due west. I tracked it as
long as possible and could likely end up at the Jordan Marina. Also several
vocal fish crows present.

>From the qew, go north on Ontario street. Where Ontario turns to lakeshore
>turn left on lighthouse road to the end.
