After other birders mentioned it had flown from its earlier location, we
relocated the bird just now, feeding opposite the boardwalk.

[Ontbirds] Willet and Rusty Blackbird at 8th Line Britannia, Milton

2014-05-04 Thread yves scholten via ONTBIRDS
The Willet observed yesterday at noon was still present today at 7:30pm
with good numbers of Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, in flooded field on
west side of 8th Line north of Britannia.

Also just south of this field and on east side of road I had one male Rusty
Blackbird. It was singing and moving along the hedgerow trees and shrubs.
The pale eye, and thin bill were clearly visible. Tail shorter than a
Grackle's.

While checking for the Glossy Ibis reported yesterday (not present) I
found at least one WILLET amongst dozens of Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs.

The Willet is currently about 30-40ft from 8th line on the west side so
viewable with bins, but a scope would be helpful as there are many bird
toward the far west of the floded field. Digiscoped photos obtained next
to Gr. Yellowlegs for direct conparison.
