As we were travelling on highway 17 yesterday (july 24th), my wife and I could 
observe a juvenile bald eagle between the ditch and the road.  For sure that 
bird was not able of an extended flight.  Maybe it hatched in the woods between 
the Ottawa river and the road.

The bird was exactly 39.7km from the south end of Mattawa, going south east.
