As we were travelling on highway 17 yesterday (july 24th), my wife and I could observe a juvenile bald eagle between the ditch and the road. For sure that bird was not able of an extended flight. Maybe it hatched in the woods between the Ottawa river and the road.
The bird was exactly 39.7km from the south end of Mattawa, going south east. http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Trans-Canada+Hwy%2FValois+Dr%2FON-17+W&daddr=46.255787,-78.203001&hl=fr&geocode=FR-2wgIdGk9P-w%3B&gl=ca&mra=mi&mrsp=1&sz=14&sll=46.252405,-78.208408&sspn=0.028132,0.054846&ie=UTF8&ll=46.278631,-78.467102&spn=0.449899,0.877533&z=10 Jonathan Fréchette Ville-Marie, Québec joe_freche...@yahoo.com www.sbmaraislaperriere.piczo.com _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
