Hello,
I'm not sure if this is worthy of Ontbirds as this is my first year to
have feeders in Windsor. Currently there are between 15 and 25 Pine
Siskins at my two nyger feeders and one black-oil sunflower feeder. With
AMGO, DOWO and both nuthatches, it's quite a feeding frenzy out there.
Anyone in the area who has never had a chance to photograph or have a
nice view of Siskins is welcome to drop by.
The address is 836 RIVERDALE AVE, which is just south of the
intersection of Wyandotte East and RIVERDALE Ave. If coming via
Riverside Drive, turn south at the Lighthouse/marina. Come up Riverdale
past Menard's Seafood restaurant and to the light at Wyandotte. Cross
Wyandotte and it's the fifth driveway on the left. Park behind my black
VW and come around to the back (upper duplex) but walk quietly as you
come up the back deck steps so as not to frighten them all away.
If coming from the E.C. Row, take the Lauzon Road north exit. Turn right
onto Tecumseh Rd. East. Turn left onto Lauzon Road (MacDonald's will be
on your right). Turn right onto McHugh. Take the first left, which is
Darfield. At the end of that short block, go RIGHT onto Little River
Acres Drive. Follow it around and it will spit you out onto my street,
Riverdale Ave. Continue northward until you are almost at the
intersection with Wyandotte. Mine is a gravel driveway on the right
(there is a little boat parked in my neighbour's yard). Park behind my
VW and come around back but walk quietly as you come up the back deck
steps to the upper duplex.
