A Red Crossbill which started showing up at my front feeder on April 27th
and again on May 2 has been here again today at 6:15 a.m. and just a few
minutes ago - 10:30 a.m.
Although the times are not consistent enough to predict exact return, it
seems fair to say that you might expect it in the early morning, mid
morning, early afternoon and dinner time (6:00 ish).
CAUTION: this area of Markham is residential, with no sidewalks; children
walk to school, come home for lunch, and return home just after 3 p.m.
Please be alert for them.
DIRECTIONS:
The large tube feeder is easily seen from the road, hanging under the spruce
tree. The bird is somewhat 'flighty' so please take care not to alarm it.
My house is north of highway # 7 and west of highway # 48.
Address: 4 Grenfell Cres., Markham.
This is a short street going north off Robinson which connects # 7 to # 48
(Main St. N. aka Markham Road.)
