Hello Birders in Ontario everywhere,

Sighted several species of Birds at Pinery Provincial Park while camping
there for the week: RUBY THROATED HUMMINGBIRDS (on the feeder I hung up at
the campsite in Burley Camping Area, BLUE JAYS, ROSE BREASTED GROSBEAK,
FLYCATCHERS, -SCARLET TANAGER & EASTERN TOWHEE & BALD EAGLE spotted by
fellow campers-, RED HEADED WOODPECKER, TUFTED TITMOUSE, BALTIMORE ORIOLES,
BELTED KING FISHER, BLACK CAPPED CHICKADEES, (Riverside Trail).

On our way home we visited my Daughter & Son-in-law & Grandchildren in
Simcoe and sighted some very rare species of Muscovy Ducks in the Duck Pond
in town. As we left Simcoe we drove 14 km. east and turned north towards
Townsend. And we turned west on the first side road to Townsend Sewage
Lagoon. We saw literally 100's of SHOREBIRDS:

STILT SANDPIPERS
PECTORAL SANDPIPERS
SPOTTED SANDPIPERS
LEAST SANDPIPERS (100'S OF THEM)
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS
SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS
GREATER YELLOWLEGS
LESSER YELLOWLEGS
SHORT BILLED DOWITCHER
KILLDEER

The above were sighted in the second lagoon. In the third lagoon there were
some ducks in the distance which appeared to look like HOODED MERGANSERS.

Directions: Follow map quest directions to Pinery Provincial Park on the
eastern shore line of Lake Huron 6 km. south of Grand Bend.

Townsend Sewage Lagoon is 14 km. east of Simcoe and a few km. south of
Townsend. There are closed gates in front of the Lagoon and has a sign that
says no trespassing no hunting. But I was told that birders are allowed to
go in.
