We really don't have editors 'in change' of any particular section of 
the book.  If we know someone is working on an area, then I think it's 
polite to ask.

pango is the X libraries section.  I wouldn't have considered pango as a 
part of gnome core.

In any case, the best way to handle this is with the ticket system.  If 
you are planning to make a change, create a ticket and assign it to 
yourself.  That way everyone can see who is working on what and we can 
prevent duplicate work.

Thanks for that. The installer works with the patch so I don't feel
motivated to change it. I may use the sed in future though as patches
can be a nuisance to update.
