I don't think that this is correct wording. I think it would be more
like "configuring server on Linux platforms" or "systems that have udev
installed".

Evdev driver does not handle advanced touchpad stuff like multitaping,
scrolling and such. Also, this driver is required for gnome stuff where
xorg-synaptics is looked for.

Have you actualy confirmed this? Since I don't remember having any
problems outside of vmware player?

--enable-sna option is usefull for sandybridge processors.

This is driver for MIPS hardware iirc. And since LFS/BLFS are x86/x86_64
only, it does not belong here.

> +xf86-video-nv-2.1.18.tar.bz2

I'd rather replace this driver with Nouveau. I'll add it

Again, wrong wording. VIA OpenChrome is x86 or x86_64 ... Also, I have
never had any problems with it lately.

Same as for newport driver. LFS/BLFS does not cover sparc. They don't
belong here.

Same as for vmmouse.

This one is used by BSD Framebuffer and LFS/BLFS is Linux-only. It does
not belong on this list.

Also, you should have removed files that are not needed in protocol
headers and libraries section. I don't think anyone needs full lists.

Other than that, Great work dj!

My reading on this suggests sna is supported, perhaps to a lesser
extent, by all intel graphics back to i810. Unfortunately, I'm only
running LFS on a real sandybridge (i3), so I can't verify the truth
of that assertion (plus, I think I read it in a comment on phoronix,
so it comes with a presumption of "not necessarily true" :)

 I've got a netbook with an i915, currently running "I can't
configure debian" - if I do nothing else for the next six months I
can perhaps build a working and useful BLFS on it, but I've got
better things to do. I'll leave it to someone else to verify or
disprove that assertion, if they care.

That's right, the synaptics driver is much better than the evdev driver
for touchpads, I've been installing it by default on all my systems for
years and it doesn't cause any problems.

Thanks. Is the nv driver still supported? It's been about 18 months
since I've used an Nvidia graphics card but back then the nv driver
didn't work and nouveau did.

Me too. I install it as I have a via chipset on the motherboard of my
router/server and (although it doesn't work particularly well - Eg, no
DRI) the openchrome driver doesn't cause any problems on any of the
other systems.

I don't know about you, but driver compiled with --enable-sna works
without any problems on my 865G chipsets. I am currently using
SandyBrigde graphics on i5 processor and I can't really tell the
difference with --enable-sna or without it. However, driver still uses
UXA (maybe I did forgot to enable sna or whatever when I recompiled
intel driver few days ago :D)
