[Blind-Computing] Tutorial for AVG Re: AVG found 2 Threts when ScanningwhatshouldIdo?

2007-08-30 Thread Margaret Thomas
There seems to be a copy of the AVG manual at:

http://www.jaws-users.com/JAWS/text/

I could swear I saw a reference to an audio tutorial on AVG on either
the jaws-users page or the blind-computing one, but, like an idiot, I didn't
bookmark it and can't find it again. I wanted to listen to it when things
are more back to normal with my computer. I'd appreciate the URL if anyone
finds it.

Hmm, I think it's the default setting to scan your computer automatically
daily, as well as check for and install any updates found actually. So I
doubt someone's set it up for you, unless they've changed, for example, when
to start the scan.

You can also set your computer to automatically avg each day. Not sure

to do it as it was done for me though. Maybe somebody on this list can

Carlis, just press enter on the continue button. Don't worry, just ignore
it. It's just telling you that you're about to install an out-of-date copy,
but because it's going to be updating anyway you might as well just ignore
it and carry on with the installation. Hope that helps.

Hi Annette,

I finally figured out how to create the labels for printing from the word
document. I did have the addresses in a column and as I went through each
step in the mail merge , I got to a point where I was totally confused.

With office 2003, when I got to arrange the labels, I had to enter to more
option and hit enter on the insert button and then close that dialog.
Afterwards, i hit enter on the update button and all the addresses were
added to the document in the type of labels that I was using.

I had to keep playing around with this until I got it to work. I thought
that you might like to know this.
Thanks for your help.

labels.
These fields correspond to the columns of the table where you have the
address data stored. I am assuming that you have your data arranged in
columns. Unfortunately, all I can do from here is tell you to read up

Hi,
Avast can be made JAWS friendly. I've done it, so I know it can be done.
All you have to do is go into Avast's settings and turn off something that
says something like Use Skins or something similar to that. Once that is
done, Avast works great with JAWS.
Hope this helps,

Hi,

When you are in the document, do a Ctrl+H and tab over to the more
button and hit enter.
Tab until you come to the special button and hit enter.
Down arrow until you find manual page break and hit enter.
You will be place back at the find window.
Hit alt+A to replace the special character with nothing and all the
page breaks should be gone.

I typed this from memory and I hope I explained the steps correctly.

[Blind-Computing] Norton2007

2007-08-30 Thread Carliss
Listers,
Is any body out there using Norton2007 with out the security package?
I know that Jaws can't work with Norton2007 with the security package, but
has anyone tried with just the antivirus? It does come that way, at least
here in Texas it does.
I rather not buy it if it's not going to work.

Thanks,
Carliss
