[Blind-Computing] New Service Pack released for Windows XP

2008-04-28 Thread Victor Gouveia
Hi Folks,

A new Service Pack for Windows XP is going to be released tomorrow via the
Windows/Microsoft Update feature, and I was sent the link for more information
on it via Microsoft's service pack information site.

Service Pack 3 will be available sometime tomorrow, and I have pasted below a
link to the web page outlining the above information, and a direct link to the
PDF version of the White paper on the new features of service pack 3 and it's
new functionality.

First, the page to get more information is:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsxp/0a5b9b10-17e3-40d9-8d3c-0077c953a761.aspx

The direct link to the PDF file of the Service Pack 3 white paper is:

Thanks Terry and all who gave me information on the DVD Audio Extractor
program. It's the most accessible audio ripper I've used, so I guess I'll
buy it. Thanks for the help.

Hello. With dvd audio extracter, it will not as far as I know of, go out and
actually get the titles of the original shows. You have to change the names
yourself.

Hi, the website for DVD Audio Extractor is www.castudio.org. I don't use the
programme, but somehow I remember the address ! Hope that helps.

Hi Jacob,

If you use DVD Audio Extractor, you can select the different languages,
which house the described audio track on the DVD.

You don't have to take the laptop to the DVD player or anything like that.

You can simply place the DVD in your laptop and rip the described audio
track from the DVD itself.

Most DVD's do not offer talking menus, however, that's not to say that there
aren't DVD's out there with talking menus, it's just that odds are that the
one you have does not offer that feature.

WGBH's Media Access Group in Boston has produced DVD's with talking menus,
and with described video tracks, however you'll have to go to the website to
find out which DVD's offer that feature.

The website is:

http://main.wgbh.org/wgbh/pages/mag/resources/dvs-home-video-catalogue.html

Enter on Descriptive DVD's and you'll get a listing of all the DVD's with
description and talking menus.

You'll have to Google where you can get DVD Audio Extractor, as I don't have
the site address right now, but it is easy to find, and the program is fully
accessible with Jaws and Window Eyes.

Hope this helps.
