Re: [Blind-Computing] Is Sound Blaster Audigy Jaws Friendly?
Hi Pete, I have one here which likes all flavors of Windows including Vista. It likes Linux too but on to your question. The only configuration you need to do is under Sounds & Audio in Control Panel. There you can set which one of the devices is your primary soundcard after you install it and the drivers it needs. Putting in the card involves the same steps as you would go through for any PCI card. Hello all. I recently purchased a computer with a Realtek soundcard built in to the motherboard. I am dissatisfied with the sound quality and am thinking of buying Sound blaster. My questions are these. 1. Is this a Jaws Friendly device? In other words Will I easily be able to configure it using Jaws and Windows XP? 2. What is involved in physically installing the card in to my machine? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Re: [Blind-Computing] How To Send E-mail To Cell Phone
To send Email from your computer to a cell phone that has internet connection, just put the phone number in place of "phonenumber" in each of the following. No dashes or anything between the numbers. Put it in the "Send To" section in your Email, just like a regular Email address. It's all free for you to send the Email, but remember some people have to pay a charge for each incoming text message they get, so might wanna check with them if it will cost them if you send an Email to them. === If you don't know which carrier you are sending to: Teleflip.com sends Email to ANY carrier: phonenum...@teleflip.com === A T & T: phonenum...@cingularme.com === T-Mobile: phonenum...@tmomail.net === Virgin Mobile: phonenum...@vmobl.com === Sprint: phonenum...@messaging.sprintpcs.com === Verizon: phonenum...@vtext.com === Nextel: phonenum...@messaging.nextel.com - Original Message - From: "Pedro Romero" To: "Blind Computing list" Sent: Sunday, May 31, 2009 7:08 PM Subject: [Blind-Computing] How To Send E-mail To Cell Phone Hello all. The email address will be the cell phone number followed by the carrier extension. [Blind-Computing] Attaching Files Using G-mail
Hi Rosemarie. Hope this helps. Here are the steps to attach a file using G-mail. Go below the subject line where Jaws says "File Upload" where you'll find an edit field. In to which you type the complete path and filename that will be attached. Otherwise , go to where it says "Browse" button and hit the spacebar. Here you can search for the folder containing the file you wish to attach. Put the cursor on the file name and tab to "where it says "Open". Hit the spacebar. The file has now been attached. If you wish to send another file, arrow down to where it says ""attach more files button". Hit the space bar and find the next file to attach. Re: [Blind-Computing] Problems with the GoogleToolbarforinternetexplorer
Actually, it has some pretty neat features. They are just hard to get to with JAWS. It has a search edit box and a few unlabeled graphic buttons that bring up options to search the current site, translate the current page, view the Google's cache version of the current page and more. I just use the JAWS cursor,, get to the right of the edit box and randomly click. I leave the Google Toolbar disabled. [Blind-Computing] windows live messenger problem
I am running what I believe to be the latest version of Windows Live Messenger, and have been for several weeks. However recently, my contacts seem to have decided to change the way they are sorted. Rather than being sorted into online and offline contacts as they used to be they now seem to be sorted into groups like friends, co-workers etch. As I recall there used to be a menu option in the view menu to change this, but it doesn't seem to be there in the latest version. Can anyone help me fix this?
