[Blind-Computing] Shopping List Software

2009-09-07 Thread Bill Gallik
Does anybody know of a program that will allow the user to:

1) create and print a customized shopping list.

2) create specific categories of items to serve as headings on the printed
list.

3) provide for several standing lists.

4) create a master list from which items will be selected.

I realize this is not a difficult project in a Word document, but I thought
a program to do this sort of thing might be convenient.

Let's offer a for instance here; Joe needs to print up a shopping list to
go to the hardware store. He would have created a hardware master list at
some previous time and he could then launch the Shopping List Manager
program, select the type of list as hardware store and select items from
his master list for hardware. The application would then have options to
save this current list and print it out.

Now, suppose Joe's wife Joanne needs to go grocery shopping; she could
launch the program and open her last grocery list, add and delete items from
a master grocery list and save and print the new list.

The Shopping List Manager would provide options to create various master
lists and add/delete items from each list. It would also print out clean
lists with only the items desired appearing. And each item might be
preceded by a hollow bullet so the shopper could check each item as it is
located.

And, oh yeah, the program should provide for caveats for items; i.e., 1
Pint Raspberries (unless they exceed $2.50/Pint)

Normally, for something like this, I would do a search in windows explorer
for either all files in a specific set of subfolders with the word rain in
the filename, or for specifically music/video clip files, then just select
all results and hit enter on them in which case they'd come up in a form of
automatically generated playlist in winamp that I can then save from the
playlist editor.

Basically, in explorer, I'll navigate to the top level music folder, hit
Ctrl + F, then hit space on either the music/video clip or all files and
folders button, tab to the all or part of file name text box, type something
in there and hit Alt + R to activate the search button, then tab around a
bit to get to the search results, and you can read the status bar to see if
the search is complete, then hit Ctrl + A to select all, or home and then
shift + end to select from top to bottom, then hit enter and wait for winamp
to come up etc.

Stay well

Hi Lois,
1.Open Winamp.

2. Press control plus p for preferences.

3. Press F until you hear File Types.

4. Tab through the resulting set of controls; Check or press the spacebar on
the types of associations you want. There is a checkbox for Audio Cd's in

5. Tab to and press the spacebar on Close.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Shopping List Software

Does anybody know of a program that will allow the user to:

1) create and print a customized shopping list.

2) create specific categories of items to serve as headings on the
printed
list.

3) provide for several standing lists.

4) create a master list from which items will be selected.

I realize this is not a difficult project in a Word document, but I
thought
a program to do this sort of thing might be convenient.

Let's offer a for instance here; Joe needs to print up a shopping list
to
go to the hardware store. He would have created a hardware master list
at
some previous time and he could then launch the Shopping List Manager
program, select the type of list as hardware store and select items
from
his master list for hardware. The application would then have options
to
save this current list and print it out.

Now, suppose Joe's wife Joanne needs to go grocery shopping; she could
launch the program and open her last grocery list, add and delete items
from
a master grocery list and save and print the new list.

Hi Randy,
Firefox just offers you favorites with no way I can see to select or
deselect particular sites that you can import from IE.
The only way I know of is to open the page you want in IE, copy the
addressbar by pressing either F4 or Alt D followed by the copy command
(control C) and then pasting that into your Firefot's open location,
control L) dialog and then saving it as a Firefox bookmark with control D
when you get there.

Jon
