You're probably better off with either Outlook 2003 or Windows Live Mail. I
personally use Outlook 2007 and works really well with JAWS 11 under Windows
7 64 bit.

Can anyone tell me about their own experience with the different mail client

available when going to Windows 7. I cannot make up my mind whether to go
with outlook 2003, windows live mail, or windows mail. I don't even know if
Windows mail still ships with Windows 7. All I think I know is it comes with

Vista. I have been using Outlook Express since Windows 3.1 and so far it is
good enough for me. I don't need anything fancy really. The most important
concern is that I should be able to get all my thousands of email from my
Outlook express.

Thanks

neither windows mail or outlook express work in windows 7, however I believe
live mail is in windows 7 for both newsgroups and email, but I do not know
how well it works with JAWS, I have never used it.

Hi Vic,
I can't speak to the specifics of other e-mail clients, but
Windows Mail is only available in Windows Vista.
You might look at a stand alone version of Microsoft Outlook, since it is
widely used.

Re: [Blind-Computing] crackling speech

2009-11-02 Thread TinkerTweak
After going round and round with tech support installing and uninstalling
then installing different version of the Realtek sound driver on my supposed
to be one of the higher end Toshiba, I finally gave up and just returned the
thing. I'm still a bit sad about it cause the specs was really great on that
laptop--well, all except the sound chip I guess. I went in stead to have
Dell customize a system for me. It is more than twice the cost of the
Toshiba but at least I'm getting a Blue-ray read write drive and a quad-core
and a good sound chip which is the SoundBlaster XFI. Thanks to all who have
tried to help on-list and off list. I am very new to this list but already I
think this list is great.

Tinker Tweek LOL Thanks for the funny. Now to answer your question. I have
this same sound card on my Dell Inspirn 530 PC. I can help you configure
the
EQ settings via this list or if you can give me a Skype call. If you set
it

some of the settings, maybe Elequence won't crackle at all anymore.

Hi all! Just looking for any suggestions and asking if anyone has run into
this problem.

I just got a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6995 with Windows 7, 6GB ofDDr3 ram,
dual core 2.13GHZ processor, NVIDIA g-force video, realtek high-definition
audio. I'm using Jaws V11. The sound from the laptop is really good for
music but the speech synthesizer is somewhat crackly. It is something like
the problem long ago with the SoundBlaster live and jaws maybe version 4
or

5 until a patch came out. This crackling is almost nonexistent in Kurzweil
1000 but is still there a bit. I turned off all the power saving feature
for

the sound card but the problem stays the same.

I really like all the goodies that comes with this Toshiba model but I
don't

want to be stuck with this kind of problem. should I exchange it for
something else or should I wait for an update or what? Any thoughts?

Thanks
Vic

Angela,
This browser currently is not accessible out of the box. I don't know if any
of the 3 makers of screen readers will develop scripts or other ways to make
this possible. If I hear anything, I or someone else will let the rest of
you know.

Thanks Kim. I found it lirking in another folder. I was moving things
