Don,

I believe there is if I understand what you are trying to
do. It happens to me from time to time. Try these steps:

1. Go to the top of the file (cell A1.
2. route Jaws to PC cursor
3 enable JAWS cursor
4. arrow up until you get to the pull down menu line and
listen for the end where it says minimize, restore, & close
symbol
5. use your arrow keys to get to the restore button and push
the left mouse button (num pad slash)

hope this helps

Re: [Blind-Computing] ADJUSTING WINDOWS VISTA FOR BEST USE

2010-01-29 Thread matthew
You have two things you can do here. First is have them reformat it and put
xp back on it or go up to win 7 which is the fix for vista. vista is lousy
and should be avoided whenever possible.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] ADJUSTING WINDOWS VISTA FOR BEST USE

Hi everyone:
Recently, HP fixed my laptop but in the process, they fixed me but good.
I

now have Vista instead of my good old reliable Windows XP Professional.
I'm trying to get through it but it's driving me a bit crazy.
Can someone help me with a list of settings that would, hopefully, make
Vista more like XP?

I remember a very nice list of adjustments someone put out for the XP
system

and I made those changes with great success. What can I do, to put it
simply, to make Vista more blind friendly?

Speak to me is selling 2 gig for $24.95 now. It has no screen, just
the ear phones. And what's great about it is that it takes a SD card.
So you can upgrade to 4 gig. And you don't need to muck around with
those earbud wires. It's right there on the front door of the
website.

Ooh I can't answer that one since I don't own one. Also, you can
purchase the Coby MP200G MP3 player from J and R Music and Computing, but
since you are wanting to play movies, that player doesn't support that. It
only plays MP3 and WMA files. Sorry I couldn't help.

Don,

I believe there is if I understand what you are trying to
do. It happens to me from time to time. Try these steps:

1. Go to the top of the file (cell A1.
2. route Jaws to PC cursor
3 enable JAWS cursor
4. arrow up until you get to the pull down menu line and
listen for the end where it says minimize, restore, & close
symbol
5. use your arrow keys to get to the restore button and push
the left mouse button (num pad slash)

hope this helps

You have to create a playlist within Itunes, in order to move music over
from your folder to your Ipod.

After you go to the satogo.com website and press Enter, it will download a
small executable to a temporary folder where it will run. It will ask you
to press Alt + R twice in a prerecorded voice to respond to the Windows
security dialogs. Once the computer is rebooted, the temp area should be
cleared and there will be no remainder of the software on that computer.

Additionally, it is possible to use this screen reader without even creating

an account. Just keep Tabbing past the login button.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Installing USB to Parallel portadapterquestions

2010-01-29 Thread John M.

Mark:

You will need to install the Windows driver for the embosser before you can
use it. The sound that you hear when you plug in the parallel adapter is
that of Windows recognizing the adapter only. Once the embosser driver is
installed, you may need to go into the embosser properties, under the ports
tab and select the USB to parallel adapter as the active port for the
embosser. Once the embosser driver is properly loaded, it will show up as a
printer choice within your applications software.

although scripts aren't really needed they add a lot more functionality to
