Hi all,

As promised, here is a program that is a great alternative for
RealPlayer. It is pretty accessible and can play too many formats. The
program is called K-Lite Mega Codec

The link will be available only for 5 days, I then can resend it if any
one needs it:

Click here to download K-Lite Mega Codec!
http://files.123envoi.com/get_1405.php?cen=37-43384-90be877cfr=66958-e25d

Follows some useful keystrokes:

SpaceBar = Play/pause
Period = stop
Control+Right arrow = Forward 5 seconds
Control+Left arrow = rewind 5 seconds
Up Arrow = increase volume
Down arrow = decrease volume
Control+m = mute
Control+Q = quick open
Control+O = open
Control+D = open DVD
Control+C = close open file or files
Control+5 = toggles the status bar
JawsKey+PageDown = read status bar, it contains info about the file's
duration, the elapsed time and the active control.

O = program options

Good luck!

Pete,
It just so happenbs that there is an article about that player in the
current Braille forum. It's Open Code and was designed by a group called
Video Lan.
If you put VLC in the Google search engine, you should find it with no
problem.
From what this article says, it isn't perfect but it does a heck of a lot
more than most hardwear players do.

2010-07-29 Thread Silpa Mallipeddi
Hi All:

I tried to install Supernova and HAL latest versions 11.54 and when I
pressed enter on 'Unlock Code' button, without entering the code and I
pressed the escape key. I got the message that the demo has been
expired.

The same can be noticed for both HAL and Supernova.

And when I tried to installl SAToGo (System Access To Go), I got error dialog.

Can anybody help me in accessing these 3 screen readers.

I installed these 3 in March and after that I have never used.

Thanks and regards,

  Dear Friends,

Could someone perhaps refer us to a web site or tutorial, for
differentiating keystrokes between the two, especially, regarding MS WORD,
outlook and Excel?

Alternatively, for ms office 2007 tutorials in combination with jaws?

I and this kind, charming Lady would very much appreciate it, because I'm not

  Thank you very much.

[Blind-Computing] daily tip

2010-07-29 Thread David Ferrin
How To Buy A Notebook: Processing Power

Your machine's CPU is literally its core, and an underpowered processor will
slow you down. Especially in portables, though, the optimum processor generally
requires a balance of speed, power, energy consumption, and heat production.
You want as much of the first two as you can get and as little of the last two
as possible. Chipmakers offer CPUs designed specifically to provide that
balance. Intel's new 2010 Core processors, for example, offer an impressive
combination of speed and power, coupled with low energy consumption.

Hi Kim,

Only a few hours ago, i sent a brief review about a program i use to play
my DVDs and files. I hope it will work for you. If you haven't got the
message I sent this very morning, here is a copy of it below! Good luck!

I just wanted to add something that i forgot to mention in my previous

chattering nonstop. That's because Jaws captures the slider that shows the
time and starts reading it. You just need to modify jaws behavior by
setting the screen echo to none in stead of highlighted for this
particular application.

The link will be available only for 5 days, I then can resend it if any
one needs it:

[Blind-Computing] Emails just sit in Outlook 2007's outbox

Hi all. OK, stupid me, I'm sure I did something, probably a keystroke by
accident. But now, when I'm composing an email and I hit Alt S, it doesn't
automatically send like it always does. Rather it just sends the email to
the outbox where it sits. However, if at that point I hit F9 to do a
send/receive, it finally nudges that email out of the outbox and on its way.

I feel sure I accidentally changed a toggle setting somewhere, but for the
life of me I don't see one in any of the settings. Hmmm. Any thoughts?

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Emails just sit in Outlook 2007's outbox

Hi all. OK, stupid me, I'm sure I did something, probably a keystroke by
accident. But now, when I'm composing an email and I hit Alt S, it
doesn't

automatically send like it always does. Rather it just sends the email to
the outbox where it sits. However, if at that point I hit F9 to do a
send/receive, it finally nudges that email out of the outbox and on its
way.

I feel sure I accidentally changed a toggle setting somewhere, but for the
life of me I don't see one in any of the settings. Hmmm. Any thoughts?

Chris

2010-07-29 Thread Chris Feist
Huh, how odd. I checked Send Immediately When Connected, and that fixed it.
Strange, though, since I could have sworn that was always unchecked which is
why I didn't even think about it. Either way, I'm good to go again.
Thanks.

Hello there;

try the following;

1, open MSoutlook,

2, alt+t=tools,
3, shift+tab=preferences,
4, right arrow mail setup,

5, now tab and make sure that, send immediately when connected,
is checked, tab okay, and alt+f4 your way out of the options.

2010-07-29 Thread matthew
Hello all. I believe it was Hannah who put up the accessible DVD player
for windows media player? I just have a couple questions and maybe
someone can help me with this. I got it installed. I downloaded it and
installed it fine. The commands aren't working for me. I think i missed
the first email she sent in on it. It is saying all the commands like
play and pause are unavailable. Am i not setting up something right in
it? Thanks for any help.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Bullets and numbers in Word 2003

2010-07-29 Thread Mike Barbara Arcadia
HI Arianna;

Below are a couple of notes I've saved on this subject.

Open the tools menu with alt T and press ENTER on autocorrect.
Press CTRL-TAB to access the autoformat as you type tab.
Arrow down and uncheck automatic bulleted lists and automatic
numbered lists.
Enter on okay.
You can also hit the backspace at the beginning of the line it
auto numbered or auto lettered to remove it and temporarily turn
off automatic number and lettering.

Go to the Format menu by pressing the Alt key then right arrow to format or
by pressing applications key and arrow down to
Bullets and Numbering; hit
enter. Control tab till you hear Numbered and then tab once and choose
None. Tab to Apply and OK.

Hope these notes help. Take care.
