Hi David,

It does interface with a computer via a USB port as in a peripheral,
and it also relies heavily on music management software on the
computer. I should also say that iTunes is found to be accessible by
some, while others find it to be not so accessible.

If it's off topic for this list, then I apologize for being one of the
participants in this thread, despite not getting a straight answer to
my original question. *shrugs*

Yes, the Apple iPod Shuffle costs 49 dollars and you can get it from the
apple store or amazon. If you have an apple store, you can look at it and
make an appointment if you want to have your personal assistant. This one
comes out the box talking with voiceover with large buttons to control it.
The others are touch screen using voiceover to control it. If you have
best buy, walmart, target, frys electronics etc, they should beable to
show the product. Heather

Hi Kim,

The iPods are accessible. I have an iPod Nane (5th generation) and it
works perfectly fine. The Shuffle also works well for my little sister.
I've heard that the Touch works pretty well.
I personally have not used a Touch or an iPhone. If you're confortable
with touch screens, go for the Touch or the Nano 6th gen. If not, go with
the Nano 5th generation.

Yes all the ipods accept the classic and the nano 3rd 8gd have voiceover.
The most simple is the iPod shuffle. All the knew ones have voiceover and
can sink to pc or a mac. They start out at 49 dollars and go up from there!

mucked with in regards to Win 7 itself, or outlook 2010 however the issue is
consistent here.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] JAWS 11 Win 7, and Outlook 2010

Hi, I have discovered that emails that have a Èblankè line in the first line of
the body of the email, a ègraphicè, or formatting of some nature like
ècenteredè text that when you open up that email the cursor stays at the top
left of the screen and not at the top left of the body of the text. One has to
tab to go through the to, cc, etc until you get to the body and then one can
navigate and read the email. On emails where text is on that first line where
there is no fancy formatting, graphics, etc then when one opens the email you
are immediately placed at the top left of the text in the email which is where
you want to be.

Any one else found this and will this be fixed by FS robin

Re: [Blind-Computing] JAWS with Turbo C

2010-11-23 Thread Jackie McBride
Ije, the Turbo C ide w/which I'm familiar is a dos program. If that is
the case, then u should get jaws for dos, which is freeware on the
freedom scientific website. It assumes u have some sort of hardware
synth like a doubletalk or braillenote, etc. It's 1 of the more
accessible ides under dos, but I'm not totally sure how well
xp/vista/7 would run such a program anymore.

[Blind-Computing] JAWS with Turbo C

2010-11-23 Thread ijemmer Ramos
Hi listers,

I am Ije and just had my first lesson in programming. Our instructor
chose turbo c as we are working with C language. However, it seems
like TC is not accessible with jaws at all. Am I missing something or
do I need to get some scripts for it to work? I cannot access the
menus at all with JAWS 10.

Thanks

[Blind-Computing] JAWS 12, Windows 7 and Media Center

2010-11-23 Thread Clark, Jeffrey
Hello Everyone,
I just purchased a Windows 7 computer with a tuner and would like to
watch and record TV. I am having difficulty navigating Media Center
using JAWS. It appears that the screen info is not read by the screen
reader. Does anyone know of scripts or tips to navigate Media Center?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

[Blind-Computing] daily information

2010-11-23 Thread David Ferrin
Comfort Counts

Shopping for a notebook computer bag? Sure, it's important to find one that
will protect your laptop at a reasonable price, but give some thought to
usability. Find a bag that opens wide, so you don't have to scratch up your
wrists trying to fish things out of a tight, zippered opening. Also, make sure
that the carry handle and shoulder strap are padded, breathable, and not prone
to slip. In fact, a strap that stretches a little will be the most comfortable
as you walk around city streets.
