up in your updates list simply press windows applications key and choose
Hide update.
To review previously hidden updates, on the main windows update page simply
tab to Restore hidden updates.

When you get to the Auto Correct and press enter, you tab across the

then press control tab to go to the next page and continue like that

  hello mike
  i have done that
i did indeed have yvonne.oliver twice
once for my t a f n email address and the other for newnet my service
  provider email address
i amended the display field in both of these 1 i put newnet after my
surname
and the other i put t a f n also after my surname
then when i looked at the address book i press y and i get the following
  yvonne tafn and yvonne newnet
i did not know the display box was able to be edited i thought it was read
  only
so on a lot of them i put the extra bit at the beginning
for example audio drama i put audio drama as the first name
and audio drama unsubscribe also as the first name
i took these out of first name field so that only audio drama shows as
first
name and audio drama unsubscribe shows as display
thank you for telling me that.
  and the default email addresses
both showed up in list of email addresses as default
but i belong to all four buy and sell sites and i sent an email to one of
  them
i did not choose the email address to use i just chose control n = new
  message
entered name of list to send to
  entered subject info
entered text check as body of message then sent it
i got an immediate answer telling me i am not subscribed to that list
so i would presume the t a f n one is the default
let me know if my assumption on that is correct or not.
i will try to send to that list using the newnet one and if all goes well
that one will be accepted and i will be able to read it
  many thanks

"None." Tab to Apply and OK.

Re: [Blind-Computing] turning automatic numbering off in Ms Word 2003

2011-01-03 Thread Mike & Barbara In Arcadia
Hi Wayne;

I run Office 2002 but, 2003 & 2002 have a lot of similarities. There are 3
different ways below. Try the steps below & see which one works best for
you.

Step 1.;
Open the tools menu with alt T and press ENTER on "autocorrect".
Press CTRL-TAB to access the "autoformat as you type" tab.
Arrow down and uncheck "automatic bulleted lists" and "automatic
numbered lists".
Enter on okay.
You can also hit the backspace at the beginning of the line it
auto numbered or auto lettered to remove it and temporarily turn
off automatic number and lettering.
Step 2.;
Go to the Format menu by pressing the Alt key then right arrow to format or
by pressing applications key and arrow down to
Bullets and Numbering; hit
enter. Control tab till you hear "Numbered" and then tab once and choose
"None." Tab to Apply and OK.
Step 3.;
To get rid of bullets and numbers, do alt. O for Format and arrow twice to
bullets and numbers. Hit enter and select None and tab to OK.

Hope 1 of these helped. Take care.
  Mike

[Blind-Computing] Alphabetic a to z listing of folders in Microsoft Office

2011-01-03 Thread Betsy Whitney, Dolphin Press

XP Home and Office 2003.

In every program that I use my folders are in list view and are
sorted a to z. However, in Office 2003, they are listed z to a.

If I go to My computer and then to Local Disc C, they are
alphabetical. I'm clueless what to do about this. All suggestions appreciated,

Re: [Blind-Computing] default email address

2011-01-03 Thread yvonne oliver

hello mike
i have done that
i did indeed have yvonne.oliver twice
once for my t a f n email address and the other for newnet my service
provider email address
i amended the display field in both of these 1 i put newnet after my surname
and the other i put t a f n also after my surname
then when i looked at the address book i press y and i get the following
yvonne tafn and yvonne newnet
i did not know the display box was able to be edited i thought it was read
only

so on a lot of them i put the extra bit at the beginning
for example audio drama i put audio drama as the first name
and audio drama unsubscribe also as the first name
i took these out of first name field so that only audio drama shows as first
name and audio drama unsubscribe shows as display

thank you for telling me that.
and the default email addresses
both showed up in list of email addresses as default
but i belong to all four buy and sell sites and i sent an email to one of
them
i did not choose the email address to use i just chose control n = new
message

entered name of list to send to
entered subject info
entered text check as body of message then sent it
i got an immediate answer telling me i am not subscribed to that list
so i would presume the t a f n one is the default
let me know if my assumption on that is correct or not.
i will try to send to that list using the newnet one and if all goes well
that one will be accepted and i will be able to read it

many thanks

Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] default email address

Hi Yvonne;
Is " Yvonne Oliver " in your address book more than 1 time? If so, and
each

entry has a different email address, you can have each entry display
differently so that you will know which is which. You can this by doing
the

following.
1. Open the first Yvonne Oliver entry.
2. Control + tab to the name page.
3. Tab 4 times to the " display " edit field. Here it probably says "
Yvonne Oliver " but, you can change this to something like " Yvonne
Oliver1

" or something like that.
4. Now, tab to okay & press enter.
5. Now go open your other Yvonne Oliver entry and follow steps 1 & 2.
6. Tab 4 times to the display edit field & if it says Yvonne Oliver here
also, add a " 2 " to it so it reads " Yvonne Oliver 2 ." Tab to okay &
press enter.

Now you will know which entry is for each email and you can differentiate
between the 2. This 1 way to tell the difference between the 2 email
addresses.

Now, to answer your question about how to tell which email adddress is
your

default email address. If your name is in the address book 2 times with
each entry having a different email address & when you open each entry,
you

will land on the Summary page, tab 1 time to the email address field, &
whatever email address is showing here is your default email address.

Another way to tell what your default email address is, do the following.
1. Open the Windows Address Book.
2. Open an entry that you know has an email address in it. I say this
because I have entries that don't have email addresses.
3. Control + tab 1 time to the name page.
4. Tab until you hear " list of emails, list view ." I think you will
have

to tab 7 times to get there.
5. If there are more than 1 email address here, you can arrow up & down
the

list and the default email address will say " default email ."

1 Other thing I should mention here is that in the Windows Address Book,
if

the address book is sorted by name, the entries are sorted by the way they
appear in the Display edit field on the name page. As I explained earlier
in this post, this display edit field can be altered to show something
different than what is in the first, middle, & last name edit fields at
the

beginning of the Name Page.

I know all this sounds confusing as hell but, with a little playing around
with the display edit field, I think you will understand what I am trying
to
say. 1 thing to remember is that anytime you make a change to an entry,
tab

to okay & press enter to save your changes. If you don't tab to okay &
press enter, & close without doing so, the changes will not be save.

I sure hope this has helped. Take care.
Mike

[Blind-Computing] retrieving information

2011-01-03 Thread Kimsan
Hello:

Ok, I went through an interesting situation this past weekend and I will ask
a question of which I believe I know the answer to but seeing as we have
such smart people on here I might get way better answers from what I
originally thought of.

New years day morning I turned on my laptop and did the
typical morning rituals and I noticed my jaws started getting all funky,
meaning choppy, delayed speech and eventually freezing up on me perminetly.

I restarted my system and once it logged back in, everything
was lost. I mean everything. My files, music, photos, documents, everything
was gone, it was like I just purchased the laptop. I couldn't install jaws
because there were no keys available, so I had to take the steps to get that
resolved and got jaws up and running this morning. However, for those two
days I was using window eyes so it didn't matter concerning the speech
portion.

So, my question is if this were to happen again is there a
way to retrieve the lost files that were gone? I'm thinking no seeing as it
was set back to a factory default. I may be wrong but it just seems to me
like its like trying to put back together broken glass, I mean once its gone
its gone right? But as I said at the start of my message we have way more
advanced folks on here so feel free to chime in.

Thanks for everyones time.

Take care.

say. 1 thing to remember is that anytime you make a change to an entry, tab
to okay & press enter to save your changes. If you don't tab to okay &
press enter, & close without doing so, the changes will not be save.

I sure hope this has helped. Take care.

2011-01-03 Thread yvonne oliver

ok thanks
but i discovered something not noticed until now
when i forward an email from another person all i get is a blank email
no body of the text
for example i forwarded one from a friend of mine to my inbox
when i heard jaws say new email i looked and it said from carol
when i opened it to read it all that was there was my name that i use to
send emails after i finishes typing the email

there was no text to read
no idea why this is but it only noticed recently today

Hi Yvonne;

You don't need to put anything in the " To " field. As long you put 1 or
more people in the CC Or Bcc field there doesn't need to be anything in
the

" To " field. The email just needs to have somebody to be sent to in 1 of
the fields. Take care.

Re: [Blind-Computing] message rules

2011-01-03 Thread yvonne oliver

hi mike
thank you for this
i will save it for future use
however the bit i meant was to be able to forward an email that has several
email addresses already in it.
this is where people including me have just sent the email and not removed
those other email addresses.
by adding "undisclosed recipient to the people in the address book makes it
better when forwarding emails because it is supposed to remove all the
previous addresses and only leave the last one which would of course be
mine.
but how do i add the words undisclosed recipient to each of the contacts i
wish to forward emails to?

thank you

Hi Yvonne;

You want to put all recipients in the " BCC " field for undisclosed
recipients to be displayed. Since I send %95 of email via the BCC field
here is how I do it.
1. Create a new email with control +N or, highlight the email you would
like

to forward & press control + F.

2. Tab down to the BCC field. If the BCC field isn't showing press Alt +
v,

for the view menu, & make sure that the All Headers option is checked. If
it isn't press enter on it to check it & pressing enter will also take you
out of the menus. Reminder, you have to have an email open to find the
All

Headers option in the view menu.

3. Press Alt + T, for tools, press R, for recipients, & tab 3 times to the
address book list.

4. Arrow down or, use first letter navigation, through the list and for
each
person you want to send this email to, press the keystroke, Alt + B, on
each

name you want to send the email to.

5. When you have entered all the names you need, tab several times to the
BCC list & arrow down to see if you got everybody. If you have included
everybody
you want, tab to the Okay button and press enter.

6. Now, tab to the subject field, enter your subject, tab to the edit
field,

put in your message, & send as usual.

If you want to use the " To " or " CC " field instead, do steps 1 & 2 but,
on each name you want to enter press Alt + T, or Alt + C, for the To & CC
fields
respectively. Then tab to the To or CC list, checkthe names, tab to Okay,
&

press enter. Then follow step 6 from above.

Hope this helps. Take care.

 hi
i just looked at that and it seems very good
apart from having to go past all the advertising junk.
i did one of these by asking the following in Google
how to send using undisclosed recipients
it told me how to do this but i am not sure of one part
it says about adding the term undisclosed recipients to people in the
 address book
first and last name apparently will allow the sender to normally type in
people from the address book using the bcc field.
the bit i am stuck on is
how do i add undisclosed recipients to people in the address book?
do i have to type their name in again so that i have 2 people with the
same
 details?
or can someone provide me with a step guide on how to add undisclosed
recipients to people in my address book
but i must say i never knew their was a quicker way of finding this out
for
example until now i would of typed this in a rather long winded way

Because I feel really bad for Mike taking so much time out of his life to
repeatedly answer these questions, I ran a 3 second Google search using
this

question:
How to backup message rules in Outlook Express?

and I got this as the first hit:
http://www.pchell.com/support/backupoe.shtml

There are of course many thousands of other solutions a quick basic Google
search away. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do by any means, I'm
just

making a suggestion that will help one find their answer much faster than
posting as well as giving those who answer their personal time back.

Hi Yvonne;

Look in your delete folder or the Recycle Bin. If it's in the Recycle
Bin,
select / highlight it, press the applications key, arrow to restore, &
press

enter. If you don't find it anywhere you can try making a new folder, if
you remember exactly how the old one was named, & make sure it is placed
in

the Local Folders list. Hope this helps. Take care.

[Blind-Computing] reading tables in Microsoft outlook 2010

2011-01-03 Thread Mark Torgerson
Hi

I have a problem where MY JAWS does not read the tables in Microsoft
outlook 2010. I am enjoying the program other than this. So, I am wondering
how do I go about reading these E-Mails that have tables?

I am running JAWS 12 latest version, windows 7, and the outlook found
in MS Office 2010 professional.

 Any help is appreciated.

God bless,

Mark
