From the start menu, select run and type %temp% into the edit field and
hit enter. That should bring up a list of your temporary files. HTH

Anna,
Are you trying to find them because you want to look at them or do
you just want to delete them. If you only want to delete them, check
the delete temporary files button and the program will do it for you.
It knows where to find them.

[Blind-Computing] Jaws reading 'Clickable'

2011-01-20 Thread Silpa Mallipeddi
Hi All:

Can anybody on the list explain at what circumstances Jaws reads,
'Clickable' when the Jaws table navigation keys, Ctrl + Alt + arrow
keys are used and what users are supposed to do.

I would also like to know if we hear similar words with other screen
readers and what they mean to users.

Thanks and regards,
Silpa.

[Blind-Computing] Headset recommendation?

2011-01-20 Thread Brad Dunse
I am looking for a recommendation for a decent headset. I bought a
cheaper Phillips one a while back but the left ear speaker gets
distorted lately, having to tap it to get it to stop, and when
Skyping and working at the same time , my buddy down the street has
gotten pretty good at understanding Jaws these days haha. Evidently
the mic is good enough to pick up the headphone. It is not picking up
Jaws directly, just overhearing the headphones. I'd like something
that is more enclosed, maybe something that doesn't have the elastic
foam covers that invariably and continually fall off.
and has a decent quality. USB would be OK. The one I have now hooks
to my sound card's mic and speaker inputs with 3.5mm jacks. Money is
an object, but so is rebuying later, so I'm looking for a decent set.

Thanks in advance and won't clutter list with each reply/response
unless you have a question.

[Blind-Computing] Getting Open Book or Kurzweil to recognize a new scanner

2011-01-20 Thread Melissa
Good evening everyone. I need some help. I have a new Cannon Cano scan
LIDE700F scanner, a replacement for an old, broken one. I've installed all
the correct drivers and software, connected the scanner, but none of my
scanning software will use it. It acts like I have no scanner connected,
though I can use the scanner outside of those programs, i.e. to make a copy
or image file. Can someone guide me on how to get Open Book and Kurzweil to
recognize and use the new scanner? I am needing to scan some course work.
With warm thanks from frigid Minnesota,
Melissa
P.S. I am using Open Book 8, Kurzweil 12, on Windows 7 64 bit, with JAWS 12.

hello
for some time now i have had this problem of whenever i restart the
computer and go to outlook express, when i press f5 i get the following
message "hide"
other times i get the message
"the requested tasks were completed successfully"
this is the message i should get all the time i press f5 to check for
new messages.
my internet supplier can shed no light on the subject.
and after a long time the correct message will appear and will stay
there each time i press f5 until i restart the computer and load outlook
express.
i am wondering if this could be an outlook express issue rather than a
fault with my computer or my i s p.
is it possible to repair outlook express?
or even re install it?
i am using internet explorer 8 with the last known version of outlook
express

and of course jaws 10

another thing is from time to time my i s p will drop connection BT have
run a copper line test and that comes back as fine he did say that
background noise was there somewhere but no idea from what or where.

i moved the router away from the speaker as this could be one reason for
dropping of service but i wonder if this is internet explorer 8?
thank you
