Re: [Blind-Computing] free youtube downloader link

2011-05-02 Thread Jacob Kruger

Not really too relevant, but some people, on principle insist on offering
free work-around services if they reckon something else is not nice/right,
etc.

For example, blind-computing.com offers a collection of information relating
to helping us make the best use of computers, etc. etc.

Also, a silly, not really related example is that for example, on my
brother's band's website, you can download their music for free since they
reckon they're artists, and not just commercially trying to make a buck etc.
etc.

Stay well

Dear Jacob ,
This seems too good to be true, and looks reallly easy and pretty neat.

What I do not understand, is why would a company or web site set up some
up that they cannot make money with?

But I will give it a try, as I said it looks really easy, just what a slow
buck like me needs!

Hello Jim;

As I indicated in my last message, you can get the same results if you
press,
Ctrl+shift+b=book,
As you would if you press alt+t=tools, and b=book,
Just as long as you have the name only selected.

There are two radio buttons there.
One is called, Name only

Make sure the one called, Name only is checked.

[Blind-Computing] JAWS couldn't read winamp playlist anymore

2011-05-02 Thread Chris Feist
HI. I just did a system restore, and it fixed this problem. But I thought
I would ask about this, just in case someone might have an idea, and I can
avoid doing whatever I did again.

Today, I was wanting to start a new playlist. I wasn't able to get rid of
the playlist already loaded in Winamp. I thought a control N would clear
it, but it didn't. OK. So, I tried a number of different keystrokes. I
tried control F4, and a few others I don't' recall.

When all was said and done, when I would go to the playlist, it wouldn't
read the tracks anymore. It would be blank, or it would act like it was
trying to read the ddesktop. I checked, and it said my skins were still set
to classic, so apparently I didn't change that setting. I don't know what I
did to mess it up, but it was a doozie.

Any thoughts? I mean it's all well and good now since the system restore
seems to have fixed it. But that was a disturbing turn of events that I
wouldn't have expected. It goes to show that just pressing keys to see what
will happen is not such a great idea as some advise to do.

This is version 5.581. Anything newer I already tried and it was a total
disaster, so I don't intend to ever upgrade Winamp again until I'm forced
to.
