Re: [Blind-Computing] lokking for 2 programs

You could do a straight cd copy for an audio cd.

For specific tracks you will first need to convert the track to mp3 on your
pc then but an audio cd using whatever cd burning software you have.

hello
i am lookinv for 2 programs

1 a program that will convert an mp3 file for example a track from a CD or
perhaps the entire album of tracks that i have created in an album and copy
or transfer it to audio format to enable it to be played on all CD player
known to mankind.
especially those around in the 80's 90's

2 a program that i can select say for example 3 or 4 lines of words and
music from a CD that is either original shop bought or one of my
compilations and allow me to save it to a folder then select the text and
use it as a ring tone.

i am quite happy to pay for a license if they do what i require

oi am using windows XP, jaws 10, internet explorer 8 and outlook express

hi larry
i have compiled albums in mp3 format
these are on the computer already in their corresponding folders
now i need to select these mp3 files and burn them to a CD in audio format
and not data format

so i need something that will do this
i did try burning the selected tracks from the CD to audio and not data
format but it did not work

then i need something to chop out bits of song words to use as a ring tone
sound forge does it but you need to be another steven hawking to use that
i would like something simple that you press the alt key or a key of some
sort and select audio.
then when the burning process commences after it has finished the CD will be
in audio and not data format

this should then play on older CD players

then i can select the tune and assign it as a ring tone
as for burning software i am using express burn

although express rip is playing up
i have the free version but it keeps telling me the period has expired and i

don't want to do this as the paid for version does nothing more that i need

any idea where i can download express rip without being asked to upgrade?

Again Yvonne you are not separating out the two parts of what you want to
do.

I do not know Express Burn so someone else will have to advise on that.

Nor do I understand what you are saying about extracting part of a file. You
didn't mention if this was Express Burn?

2011-09-24 Thread Martina Letochová
As for the part with cutting out a portion of a track, yvonne, MP3DirectCut
would do it, or there are also audio editors like Goldwave or Audacity; then
you can save the piece in whatever format your cell phone supports and set
it there as a ringtone.

[Blind-Computing] Accessible cell phone inquiries

2011-09-24 Thread acarthon
Hi list,
It's Alvin. I just received one of those government cell phones, but I'm
wondering if there is some software out there that will make it more
accessible to navigate the menus and use it fully.
It's a Sprint phone.

Also, this is my first cell phone ever, so I'm kind of new to it. :)
UP until recently, I have just been getting by with AT&T calling cards. I
know crazy right? Lol
But they seem to be phasing those out. :)

I am totally blind so some type of speech output would be useful.
I have memorized how to turn it on/off, and I know how to dial others
using it.
The essentials. :)

I'm just asking to see what's out there. I may end up getting another
cell phone in the future that has more accessibility, but this will
suffice for now.

I'm just wanting suggestion and possibilities of accessible cell phone
software/hardware.
I did a little research and ran across some software called Mobile Speaks
and Talks.
is there anyone who uses any of these? How are they, and Are there
others?
Are there any other lists that deal specifically with this? Can someone
please point me in that direction? :)

Thanks in advance!

God bless you all!
Alvin

Alvin: A lot of it will depend on what platform, or operating system, is
used on the phone. I have an HTC Dash phone through T-Mobile. It has a
Windows platform. So I had to purchase a software program called
MobileSpeak. Unfortunately, it is somewhat pricey (I paid about $500 for
it). T-Mobile does not really have a TTS (text to speech) application at

You could do a straight cd copy for an audio cd.

For specific tracks you will first need to convert the track to mp3 on
your
pc then but an audio cd using whatever cd burning software you have.
