[Blind-Computing] About Temp folder

2011-11-25 Thread Silpa Mallipeddi
Hi All:

1. Can anybody on the list give idea of the 'Temp' folder.
And my actual doubt is 'what merits / demerits / issues we need to
face if we delete the files or delete the temp folder'
If we have any issues, how to fix them.

2. When I installed NVDA 2011.3, I'mn't able hear the voice of NVDA,
but when I load some other program, I hear and do only hear the beep
sound.

3. I installed WE 7.5.2 in my system, but I get error saying that I
cannot uninstall it when I tried to uninstall it.

Can anybody on the list suggest me how to tackle with the issues

Thanks and regards,
Silpa.

Hi Silpa,
First, tell us which operating system you are using,
we can't give accurate information until we know that.

Re: [Blind-Computing] About Temp folder

2011-11-25 Thread Bob W
I always use a program like CCleaner to clean out the temp files. I figure,
let the folks who know what they are doing do it right.

I would never delete the temporary folder since some program may come in
expecting it to be there and you've deleted it.

Just my opinion.

Re: [Blind-Computing] 32 Bit Windows7, Maximum RAM

2011-11-25 Thread Lenny McHugh
I just was at the shop where I purchased mine. I am having some problems
that I might have to go back a few weeks on backups or save what I can. I
have a lot of software installed that I can not recover. It was downloaded
from gift of the day. Anyway I was thinking about going 64 bit. They
actually talked me out of it. I have 3gb installed and no real plans for
additional memory. If I wanted more than the 3gb I would have to go 64. The
main reason that I went 32 bit was because drivers for some of my
peripherals. My wife has a dye sublimation printer and there are no 64 bit
drivers for it.
