Re: [Blind-Computing] Search Provider Error Message In IE8
Hi Hareth & Lauren, This is coming a little late but anyway, thank you very much for your replies. Had trouble sending emails from where I was the last couple of days. I removed all Search Providers, installed the Google Toolbar, made Google my default search provider, removed the Google Toolbar, & I still get the same error message. Also, I've reset IE8 back to the default settings & still get the same error message every time I open IE8. I've ran scans with SuperAnti Spyware & MSSE with clean results. Below is the error message I am receiving every time I open IE8 for those who might not have read earlier messages. Internet Explorer - Search Provider Default A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider, Live Search (search.live.com). Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers. OK Take care. Hi Hareth, Where would a person find the Google Toolbar to download / install & do as you suggested, if I want to do this at another location? Hi Lauren, Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have sent this link to the tech that just installed the operating system on that particular computer. That computer is at another location, 120 miles away, & at this moment that is just not quite far enough! LOL, hahaha hahaha hahaha, LOL I certainly hope that 1 of the suggestions from this link is the cure! Again, thank you so very much! Take care. Hi Again Hareth, I found & installed / uninstalled the Google Toolbar on a computer at this location just to see how this computer would respond. I thought this Google Toolbar would be difficult to find since they try to sneak it into your computer unknowingly via other programs, like CCleaner.
