[Blind-Computing] What about DVD's

2007-12-11 Thread First Christian Reformed Church
I'm using a Plextor DVD drive.
When I use DVD+RW discs in the drive it works fine. I am able to record
and re-record.
But when I put a DVD+R disc in the drive it doesn't seem to recognize it.
 I can't format it either.
I've bought two different kinds of DVD+R discs with the same result.
Any ideas for me?
Blessings,
Tom

[Blind-Computing] re dvd writing problem

2007-10-19 Thread First Christian Reformed Church
Hi,
It sounds like you have narrowed down the problem.
I'm afraid I can't help you anymore, because when I check the Enable
Recording box, it stays that way for at least one round of recording.
I only use the Windows XP built in software for recording CD's.
Perhaps you could try writing to a CD with only the XP functions, and
then you would know whether there is a problem with the CD writing
software you are using.
Otherwise, maybe someone else on the list has a new idea for us.
Blessings,
Tom

I tried your idea, yes it was unchecked I checked it , and then tried to
write again , but it is getting unchecked immediately .
I am wondering what is going on !!!.

[Blind-Computing] rE Blue tooth listening device

2007-10-07 Thread First Christian Reformed Church

One form of Bluetooth listening involves an audio adapter that plugs into
the computer, and transmits to headphones that you wear.
I use an audio adapter with a standard Bluetooth headset.

[Blind-Computing] RE Scripts

2007-09-15 Thread First Christian Reformed Church
Not only are some of us scared of scripts, some of us have no idea what
they are and what value they have.
Can someone give me a short, Scripts for Dummies explanation?

Tom

Re: [Blind-Computing] How to merge addresses to labels in MS Word? (Lennie Rinaldi)

2007-08-30 Thread First Christian Reformed Church
I can't tell you how to merge addresses from a table in Word, but I have
figured out how to do it from an MS Access database.
If you have MS Access and wish to enter your information there I can help
you with that.
You can contact me off list if you want to pursue this.

Tom

[Blind-Computing] RE Accessible Bible

2007-08-09 Thread First Christian Reformed Church
I will provide you with the NIV Bible, even if you live in the UK.
At that point I'd prefer to send it to yu as a zipped file. I've done
that several times and it has worked well.
If in the US or Canada you would like a CD with the NIV Bible on it, I'll
gladly mail it out.
Send me an e-mail off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
You simply need to affirm that you are blind and give me your contact
information.
We've used this Bible extensively with JAWS and on a Pac Mate and it
performs well. It runs in Internet Explorer with links to the books,
chapters and verses. It has no word search functions, and is designed
just for reading.
