[Blind-Computing] Speech and Sounds Manager

2009-10-27 Thread Jane Jordan (GMail)
I tried to open Speech and sounds manager on my netbook and it said that
a shared speech file was corrupted. Can this be fixed without having to
do a reinstall of Windows XP? If so, how do I do this?

Wordpress is pretty good. I use it for a blog about Second Life.

http://blindsl.wordpress.com

You can also use LiveJournal
www.livejournal.com
And SeMajic. Semajic is a desktop client ou can use to post to LJ.

You can use BlogDesk to post to wordpress.

I'm advising somebody on where best to create a blog. I looked at Blogger,
and with JAWS 10, I couldn't activate the OnMouseOver which brings up the
spell checker. I have heard that WordPress is more accessible. For this
user, an easy environment will be better. What is the experience on this
matter?

Re: [Blind-Computing] Internet Explorer question

2009-06-16 Thread Jane Jordan (Gmail)
I think it is.

I use multiple tabs all the time. Control-tab will get you between pages.
Much easier than having to go through different windows. There *is* a
difference, but I can't explain it easily. It looks confusing at first, but
you'll get used to tabs in no time.

I'm brand new to Twitter . Does anyone know of an accessible

but looks difficult to use. So any "newbie" clients would be greatly
appreciated! Thanks!

[Blind-Computing] FireFox and Thunderbird 2 with JAWS 8

2009-04-21 Thread Jane Jordan (GMail)

I finally installed Mozilla FireFox
www.mozilla.com
and Thunderbird 2
www.mozilla.com

and I am having some success. I am using ThunderBird now to compose
this email. I don't se everything, such as if a message is read or not,
but I am able to arrow down the list, reply to messages, and so on.

Keyboard shortcuts for this program seem to be the same or very similar
to OutLook Express.

Soon I will figure out how to add signatures that show what is playing.
