Hello there;

This windows keystroke,
Windows+b=system-tray,
Works very well,
In fact, you can perform this keystroke, from your email client, etc.
I've known this keystroke a long time.
I use it,
Quite often, it's easier then the insert+f11,
At times,

That's actually a standard windows keystroke, so, yes, it will work even
without a screen reader...

Stay well

Re: [Blind-Computing] installing office 03

2011-06-17 Thread John O'Rourke
Good Day:

Typical refers to most of the program in whatever suite you are using.
The only way to install all files is to use the complete selection. Thank
you.

Hi all!

I've just read an email message saying Yahoo is going to update it's mail
service. Do you know if this will make it more or less accessible?

Thanks!

Hi,

Hopefully I can get an answer within the next 5 seconds hahah but if not
that's ok. I'm installing office o3 and I have choices such as: typical,
complete, minimal and custom. I am aware of the last two but what is the
difference between typical and complete? Will typical install it completely?

Thanks.

[Blind-Computing] Internet radios or Wifi radios

2010-05-12 Thread John O'Rourke
Good Day List members:

A friend of mine in Decatur Illinois is looking for an accessible Internet
radio. He has no interest in owning or learning a computer. He does however,
want to enjoy Internet radio in particular Old Time Radio sites. The NPR Shop
does offer an internet radio for its member stations and others but the price
is higher than he can comfortably cover. Would any list member have a couple
of suggestions? Thank you for any and all opinions.
Thank you.

2008-09-23 Thread John O'Rourke
Good Day:

The JAWS 10 public beta appears to be very stable. For a first public beta,
this version has been the most stable and usable on a day to day basis that
I've seen from Freedom Scientific. Thank you.

Re: [Blind-Computing] memory and hard drive space

2008-03-16 Thread John O'Rourke
Kathy:

I agree with those list members who have recommended as much memory as you
could possibly afford. A 250 or so gig hard drive is more than adequate. I
would also recommend two gigs of memory with Vista. Because of the sound
stacking introduced in JAWS 9, you may even operate with one gig of RAM but two
gig will be an industry standard particularly with Vista. When I was under
contract with Axiom Resources Management of Falls Church Virginia, we always
used to say that memory was the electronic equivalent to gold. I own a Dell
laptop with two gig of RAM and that has been adequate for me. With a 250 or
260 gig hard drive you could if the need arises add two gig of virtual memory.
I just reminded myself that I need to review the procedures for adding virtual
memory to my system as well. Good luck.
