Hi, can someone please help me. I need to know how to find and open a
flash drive on my computer. I am using windows 7 and JAWS 14. I know
 that
when you insert the flash drive a menu opens and you can open the flash
drive there. But let's say that I close that window and then want to
 find
the flash drive and open it, how would I do this?

 Thanks in advance.

Hello friends, I urgently need your help please.

as you all may be aware I posted previusly a problem concerning
IE or any browser won't let me change my homepage from AVG
security search. I was told that it probably had to do with
some kind of settings in parental control and I went in there to
see if I could figure out what to do. Whilst in there, I was
prompted by Windows to set a password, less programs or persons
could have acces and pose some kind of a security risk which I
did and confirmed it in the box that followed. I created a
really simple password which I am sure to remember and when I
rebooted the machine I am locked out of Windows. I hear the
startup sound but gets the prompt to enter my password and it
never worked. So one problem lead me int another.

Do you have any idea as to how I can reset this or would I have
 to do the dreaded reformat?

to completely iraze your hard disk of all data, you can use this utility
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dban/files/dban/dban-2.2.6/dban-2.2.6_i586.iso/download
you press f10 when booted in to the cd.
how to reinstall windows?
normally, because windows setup does not have speach, you would need
sighted assistance.
insert your windows disk in to the cd drive.
turn on your computer
and wate for the disk to boot.
press any key to continue.
you then will see a message telling you setup is loading files.
after setup has done this, you will need to click on english in the
language selection box.
you may need to enter product key, I can't be shore.
someware you need to enter it.
restore and reinstall, are 2 verry different things.
restoring your computer is only reseting the old windows files
reinstalling is completely formating your hard drive, and reinstalling
everything from scratch
I hope that helps.

Can some kind soul provide me with step by step instructions on how to
ensure that my hard disc is absolutely clean and reinstalling / restoring
Windows? Also, is restoring or reinstalling Windows one and the same thing?

 Very Best Regards

 Hi Hareth,

Afraid I am back to the original problem again. We did a restore using F8
followed by a full malware scan which removed two items from the system.
 We
reinstalled MSE but unfortunately the message Windows have suffered a
critical error, the system will log off in 1 minute please save your
 work
has returned. Worse still, there is no F8 or restore option any longer. I
assume if I opt for a system recovery option, I'll loose all my data?

 Greetings

I have just subscribed to this list and would really appreciate if
 someone
can help me in fixing the following issue.

I clicked on a link from the Bing search engine which asked me to update
 my
flash player but I think it has installed some trogen on my machine. It
turned off my Windows firewall and MSE protection. Despite many
 attempts,
 I
was unable to turn on the firewall or scan my machine using MSE so, I
uninstalled and reinstalled MSE. Since then, I am getting a Windows
critical error message and my machine reboots automatically after 1
 minute.

I am running Windows Vista Business on this machine ( HP Work station )

Any help will be truly appreciated.

 Very Best Regards

 Waqas

hi there.
yes, after you use dban, your recovery disk should work in restoring
your computer.
warning! that recovery diskwill restore your computer to factory
defaults, so, that means no screen readers:
I hope this helped
kind regards

 Hi Majid,

Thanks so much for explaining and the link. As I have mentioned earlier, I
don't have the Windows disc just the back up disc that I believe have the
system restore files. So, can I use this utility to clean my hard disc and
then, perform a system restore? Would it work?

 Very Best Regards

 hi there,
to completely iraze your hard disk of all data, you can use this utility
 https://sourceforge.net/projects/dban/files/dban/dban-2.2.6/dban-2.2.6_i586.
 iso/download
you press f10 when booted in to the cd.
 how to reinstall windows?
normally, because windows setup does not have speach, you would need
 sighted assistance.
insert your windows disk in to the cd drive.
 turn on your computer
and wate for the disk to boot.
 press any key to continue.
you then will see a message telling you setup is loading files.
after setup has done this, you will need to click on english in the
 language selection box.
you may need to enter product key, I can't be shore.
someware you need to enter it.
restore and reinstall, are 2 verry different things.
restoring your computer is only reseting the old windows files
reinstalling is completely formating your hard drive, and reinstalling
 everything from scratch
 I hope that helps.

 Dear all,

Further to my earlier correspondence, I am unable to get into my Windows
using the F8 option. I have been advised that it may mean that my hard
 disc
is gone? Since I am on holidays, I am considering reinstalling Windows
 but
have never tried this before. I have the system restore disc for this HP
work station and I believe there is a label on the machine itself with
 the
Windows seriel number. This is a HP work station running Windows Vista
 business.

Can some kind soul provide me with step by step instructions on how to
